The stepped-up EU and U.S. sanctions against Russia are not part of a new Cold War, Obama says. |

Should just shut off the pipe lines that goes through Ukraine from Russia and let the Russian economy implode while blaming Putin the whole time see how fast he looses power and support.

Among the targets of the new measures include the Bank of Moscow, the fifth-largest bank in Russia; the Russian Agricultural Bank, the fourth-largest; and VTB Bank, the second-largest. The sanctions prohibit U.S. individuals from providing new financing to the three major Russian financial institutions, thereby cutting off their access to U.S. capital markets. View Quote Well, better than what he has been doing. Question though, what about the first and third largest banks? |

Mr. Obama- I have some questions:
1. Why the Obama administration is targeting Russian banks one at a time. Why not cut them all off? 2. The Russian banks have already made moves to begin dealing in other currencies, such as the Chinese Yen. Will this really hurt them? 3. It is known that Putin warned his Oligarch class to begin divesting assets in the west before he went into Crimea. Wasn't he prepared for this? 4. Exactly why did you win that Nobel Peace prize again? Can they take it back? |

If sanctions are his weapon, Obama should just admit that he doesn't want to fight. All he's doing is ensuring an export boom in Europe and Asia.

The stepped-up EU and U.S. sanctions against Russia are not part of a new Cold War, Obama says. so, based on Obama's past history, it IS a new cold war. |

Putin must laugh his ass off every time Barry shakes his tiny dick at Russia.

Who won the cold war? After the wall came down the West and its allies all started to invest billions into Russia and China, building their infrastructure, bringing factories and jobs, cutting domestic jobs and production and sending them overseas.. Now all of those companies are tied in along with our economies and everyone has a conflict of interest. Now nobody wants to sanction Russia or China because it will cost them money. This is true for the US and all its allies. Us allies can see the use influence is fading and that they have their own interests to look after.. Basically there is not much anyone can do, will do.. is willing to do against Russia or China because of repercussions, this has given the former cold war enemies a whole new strategic power. Who won the cold war? |

I heard earlier on Fox that the sanctions were in finance and ARMS
Does anyone have any details on what that entails? No Saigas? Russian ammo? etc? |

Right before Obama spoke, the Treasury Department unveiled the new sanctions. They target Russia's energy, arms, and finance sectors. View Quote I really wanted a saiga shotgun. |
