Agreed on both the above and I add Lzzys G.N.R. cover of"Out Ta Get Me" especially the version she kept doing with Slash during his tour. Lzzy and her band blow the originals out of the water. Another Example is Halestorms version of Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind" http://youtu.be/K7Vv9Zfdk90 http://youtu.be/K7Vv9Zfdk90 Saw em in the Masquerade here in Atlanta a year ago and have seen em 2 more times since. Awesome live band with great, strings, killer drums and her out of this world voice. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

"Bad Romance" covered by Hailstorm
Obviously the two songs Van Halen covered. Dancing in the streets and the kinks song ) I forgot. Stopped listening to Van Halen when David left. "Planet Caravan" by Pantera equals that of Back Sabbath. |

All of Marilyn Manson's and NIN's covers. I've never heard one that I didn't like more than the original.
I also like Queens of the Stone Age's version of White Wedding more than Billy Idol's. (NIN's original version of Hurt is better than J. Cash's, IMO. Though I know that everybody, including Trent Reznor, disagrees with me.) I also like The Deftones version of "Simple Man" equal to the original. Maybe not "better", but definitely equal. Their version of "Savory" by Jawbox is better than the original. |

Cookie monster metal covers are stupid. The FFDP covers in particular are 'tardnados of fuckery that are a grave disservice to humanity. They should be flogged until they are dead. View Quote Might not want to listen to REAL metal bands like Through The Eyes of the Dead, ZAO, or anything like that then. They don't do covers though. |

I like Trent Reznor and Maggie O's cover of Immigrant song.
A woman's vocal range sounds oddly similar to Robert Plant's. |

I cannot believe how many posted Metallica covering Turn the Page.
Hetfield cannot sing, never could. He sounds gayer than fuck trying to sing that song. This is coming from a fan of theirs in the 80s... |

i am not sure if its "Gooder" as the OP put it but its certainly excelent. They didn't just cover the song they made it their own which is how i like a cover. I want to hear how you would do it not just play it like the other guy. http://youtu.be/I4Q0CaV4Uuw View Quote That's just gooder, not gooderer as the title of the thread suggests. Still good, though. Eta: and I concur with the "making it your own" statement. |

Would Myles Kennedy and Slash playing Guns 'n Roses songs count as cover songs? Because pretty Myles pretty much blows Axl out of the water.
