Not much to this thread. I've got almost all the parts I need to finish my SBR, except the hand guard.
It's going to use a 10.2" Noveske 300blk barrel. I already went by the Fun Shop and confirmed that I can still correctly mount a SureFire SOCOM Suppressor to the 10.2" barrel with a DD Mk18, so there's no issue there. Normally I'm a LaRue guy, but I'm considering trying something different for this build. Here are the handguards in question: LaRue Taclical 9.0" Handguard LT15-9 Weight: 0.854 lb Daniel Defense Mk18 RIS II Weight: 0.881 lb Noveske NSR Rail (9 inch) Weight: 0.544 lb (with barrel nut) Note that the NSR was added here as a bit of an after thought, I'm still not all that impressed by KeyMod, but it is what it is so I putting it in the running. I know I'm risking catastrophe by posting this question in GD, but I figured it would cast a wider net. |

I would go with the 9" BCM KMR. I plan on swapping the rail on my 10.5" with one when my suppressor is released from prison. I have a 8.2" .300BLK with a Mega MKM upper/rail combo and it has the same style of rail and it's great.

I think there are rails that look better and cost less. For instance, the parrallax tactical

Geissele MK4
Super easy to install, even comes with the tool to do it. Lightweight and strong, clean machine work and nice features. |

Meh, not having a continuous top rail on the Larue is a deal breaker for me.
I'd got with the DD Mk18. Don't own the Mk18 version myself, but have owned an upper with the RIS II and it was a fantastic solid rail. Nothing wrong with the NSR either, my "go to" rifle sports a 13.5" NSR. I'd say you can't go wrong with your 2nd or 3rd choice. |

Voted NSR
LT? lol Let me know if you need to borrow my strap wrench. |

BCM KMR.

You used a multiple selectable answer poll. That kinda throws a monkey wrench in your poll.

If I had to pick from one of those three, it would definitely be the DD.

Well, I guess it really does depend on what type of optic you are planning on using. Either way, why risk having that portion open when essentially all newer manufacturer designs don't have it. I think the question should be, "What does the Larue rail do that the Mk18 or NSR don't?" |

DD.
Simply because the bottom rail comes off. Easy to clean and oil. |

In humid environments you gotta be able to clean everything otherwise rust starts. I live in the florida keys and the humidity and salt air are harsh down here. |
