Usually white terry cloth. Not Victoria's Secret sexy but I think the fresh out of the shower look with a hint of cleavage showing has its own appeal.

I do have some silkier ones I wear from time to time as well.

And I'm too simple to worry too much about corsets and fishnets and such. I like pretty bra and panty sets and stuff like this.

If I were in better shape I'd be more adventurous. There's some gorgeous stuff out there I'd like to give a whirl.

Not that I've ever turned down lingerie. But I'm a simple man. Tight wife beater + boy cut panties? Hnnnggggg.

(I may or may not have specifically bought wife beaters much smaller than I could ever wear, just to have around, for when a girl wants to get more comfortable.)

I hate bedroom costumes.

If a woman wants to use clothes to turn me on all she needs to do is wear skimpy panties and a flannel shirt (mostly unbuttoned).

Barefoooted and braless with those two bits of clothes is the best thing a woman can do for me.

I've never been a provocative dresser. I have a couple nice bra and panty sets for dress up and a half dozen conservative but feminine nighties for lounging around in. Sometimes, at the end of the day, when my husband takes of his grown-up clothes, I'll take off my work clothes and put on his shirt. He likes women in men's shirts, and I like the way his smell after he wears them.

So, I guess the answer is "no", but I will fry bacon nekkid, so I have that going for me.

You have to build up her confidence about it. Never even make a joke thats unflattering. If she goes out on a limb and puts on something you bought her body image is sacred. No wisecracks.

its not a gift. Dont act like you bought it for her. Dont give it to her on a holiday. Buy it, give it to her and save the gifts for something she likes. Bundle with jewelry and present her with both on a trip if you really want to seal this deal.
