According to the IRS, Teton County tops all the counties with an average household income of $300,000.

So ask anything.  I'll answer a few tonight and try to answer a few more in the morning if there's any interest.

To start off I'll say I both live and work in the county, not commute like many do.

I wanted to be a JBT from a young age. Then i joined the military and realized what JBTs do for a living.
What do you recommend majoring in to secure a future for myself outside of the military and law enforcement?

What was your job in the military? Is there a civilian occupation similar to what you did? If so, pursue that, otherwise diversify yourself. Get a major that when put with your previous job, appeals to a broad spectrum of employers.

Thanks for your service.

Average income isn't as meaningful as median income.

Same deal with houses.  You can have a few people up at the top skew everything.  If the middle of the pack is higher than the middle elsewhere, you get a better sense of the affluence of a county/city.

Not sure honestly. Most the people I deal with are tourists and people I hire/work with.

I'm sure there are tons of them, as we tend to swing left in many votes. I just either avoid or ignore them I guess.

Answer one of the following:

a.  Whose basement do you live in?
b.  What is your part-time job?
c.  How much does your life savings drop every month?

My brother was an elementary school teacher in Jackson.  He lived in a co worker's basement, babysat her kids part time, and still lost money.

Beautiful place, but hard for normal people to make a decent living.
