That sucks. Good thing this isn't our problem. Just kidding, John McCain and Lindsey Graham said it is our problem. Apparently Ukraine is somehow America's front porch. Yeah, we're in shitloads of debt and have hordes of illegal immigrants running all over our border and collecting welfare, but it's important for us to dig ourselves even deeper in debt so we can protect the borders of Ukraine. Georgia, Ukraine, might as well let them have Poland too. Where do we start caring? Budapest? Prague? Berlin? Paris? London? Or do we just let Europe get over run by the Russkies and not care until they head for Alaska or Washington DC? Cool, maybe they'll waste a shitload of money fighting insurgencies against people who hate them even more than you do. Why start another war that only the military wants victory? The American people caved to the Iraqis Afghans and I see no reason they wouldn't cave when faced with the iron will of the Russian people. |

Oh, are you under the delusion that anyone in government wants to secure the border or cut welfare spending? So yeah, let's let the goddamn Russians role through Europe, kill thousands and thousands of people, while making a mockery of our ability to enforce out alliances and establish themselves as the lone super power while we cower under the weight of debt incurred by Obamaphones and Cash for Clunkers. The same Europeans who believe America is the greatest threat to world peace that exists? Yeah, not really feeling too concerned about their well-being. The same Europeans who SWOONED over Obama? It's hard to see how these can be carried out in the eastern part of the country, with the fighting going on. View Quote Prediction is the Pro-West parties will pull more votes and ultimately wipe out any power of the Communist/Russian leaning parties, the first time since independence. The Russians not allowing these Eastern Ukrainians to vote only hurts their cause and this Russian invasion pisses off more of the Ukrainian population that were on the fence. In the end, the population will bow to whoever will take care of them. We've now crossed into the time where the promise of financial security outweighs the threat of the gun. Unfortunately, Putin learned from his mistake of financing a country full of squatters so now he's had to resort to old tactics. Ukrainians are accustomed to taking cold showers so the threat of turning off the gas isn't going to have the affect on them that it would in the rest of Western Europe. |
