Shotgun with a rifled slug barrel?

Truthfully, I go the Arfcom way, have both ready (14.5" carbine and a 20ga 870 with #4 buck...) standing ready. So I guess it depends on what mood I'm in.

The facts that one can put 5 placed rounds center mass in the time it takes to shoot and cycle a pump action shotgun.
Never depend on the bad guy staying still.
More holes are better than one.

Who said it had to be a pump?

There's a rifle, pistol and shotgun all within easy reach of my bed.

If anything ever goes bump in the night, I'm going to grab the pistol. If the pistol wasn't an option, the next up would be the rifle.

I've had to grab the shotgun on two separate occasions and I really wouldn't feel too bad with it either. Better than a golf club or baseball bat.

Shucks I can put 41 .24 caliber holes in the kill zone with one shot from my 12 ga. Its called #4 buckshot 3" magnum loads.

I'll say pillows.

But, if those don't work I usually have a Glock 17 w/ Surefire X300 and 18 rounds of 135gr +P Hornady Critical Duty at my bedside.

If I'm feeling a little froggy I'll grab for my 14.5" AR with 30 rounds of 5.56 62gr JSP Hornady TAP.

Fuck that shotgun nonsense.

Meh, how fast are those .24 caliber projectiles moving?  How many are hitting something vital?

I'll take 3 or 4 well aimed 5.56 JSP rounds COM over one round of #4 buck any day of the week.
