If you rely on your gun for your security you failed the understanding of what security is. When I traveled, I carried a sharpen steak knife that I got from the hotel. Why? Because I didn't have to worry about customs, if ai came across the local cops I could ditch it quick, and it was an effective tool. SAC, you really need to take a more Jason Bourne approach to traveling. I don't mean having storage lockers everywhere with illegal guns and fake passports, but if you do some research and planning ahead and then keep your eyes open while in a new place ... it's not terribly difficult to figure out how to obtain or fashion a suitable weapon if needed.
