Alcohol, pop, TV, my old job (loved it, but my BP was through the roof), and my stock in my first startup.
I'm guessing next up will be my truck - it's been a millstone around my financial neck since I got it from my great aunt. |

I removed the notion that I need 8 hours of sleep to function properly during the day. No more laying in bed for 2-3 hours waiting to fall asleep. Now I go to sleep when I'm tired whether that be 10pm or 1am even though I get up at the same time. I fall asleep faster, sleep better, and feel better in the morning. Quality over quantity.

Ditching toxic "friends". Realizing there was no reason to ever see or speak to specific people ever again was a big moment. The stories about them that filter back to me validate my decisions. It was kind of like getting off a train at the last stop before the slow-motion wreck. View Quote When I moved away from them I stopped taking their calls and have made new ones that are 1000 times better. Also fast food and going to bars and drinking regularly. I will still have a drink now and then but a bottle last me months+ instead of days |

Toxic friend, and cigarettes.
Now that those two are gone, my relationships with everyone around me have improved, and my stress level is basically 0. It took some real effort to get rid of both, but worth it 10x over. |

I love my in-laws, it's my wife's I couldn't stand. Ditched them and the world got a whole lot brighter.

A pilonidal cyst/abscess. took 2 surgeries but it was worth it. View Quote Not the first thing that came to mind, but I've BTDT and it sucked pretty hard. I only had one surgery, but the surgeon was an old Army doc that didn't really hold back. When the narcotics wore off, I could have sworn said surgery involved a chainsaw. |

Cable-TV, Bastard of a Father and his wife and her hoard, Landlord, Deadened job. I turned 40 this year and made a ton of changes. All for the positive. Remove all the toxic crap out of your life and life will be way better. |

I'm gonna go with "caring what anyone other than my wife and kids think of me" Liberating. View Quote This. I threw away any care I had about what others thought of me after a series of tragic events in my life. As a result, I've adopted a live and let live attitude. The genetically attached Glock 20 on my hip serves as a reminder those who'd don't follow the same policy. |
