Still new to this, and all the lower divisions.  If Bradford City is 49 places below Chelsea (7th in the Third Tier) this upset has to be something like a second or third place SEC College grid iron team beating the Seahawks?  Or a AA baseball team beating the Giants in a game that matters and eliminates them.  Am I drawing the right conclusion there?

Looks like it was upset day all over for the FA cup with City and Southampton also eliminated.  And United and Liverpool playing to draws?

Not a good day for Chelsea.
Dumped out of the Cup by Bradford

WTF happened.  Up 2-0.  WTF happened to the defense (or defence)?

Happens a lot.  Part of what makes it such a great tournament.

Bradford scored some really good goals.  The next FA Cup and Champion's League  rounds are played on the same week.  The silver lining is CFC won't have to play multiple matches the same week they play against PSG.  (PSG will)

West Ham, Villa and Arsenal play lower division sides today.

As manager, do you adjust (improve) your lineup to try to ensure a win since some of the high quality teams you'd have expected to play later on have been eliminated, increasing your chances of going all the way?  It will be interesting to see how today goes.

ETA:  They all won.  Next round draw tomorrow.

1) We beat the hated Reds - whatever the competition, that's good

2) We avoided going into a huge game against City on a two game losing streak after that morale deflating disaster against Bradford City.

If Sheffield United plays well enough against Spurs today to go through to the final, there will be another chance for Mourinho to lose to a lower division side .

The Blues had me worried there at the end.

5 pts, with 15 games to play.  Still a whole lot of football between now and a trophy.

That bug-eyed little Turk has put the Spurs down 1 to the Gunners. It's been a decent game so far. Off to work, hopefully when I get home I can watch the DVR of a Spurs win!

If you motel (or host) has it, you want "NBCSN" channel.   NBC Sports Netwrk

Just remember that "Saturday Night Football" starts at 9:30 or 10:30 AM there

Chelsea game is tomorrow 1:00PM in Arizona.

this page shows what EPL matches are on what channels at what time:
http://www.livesoccertv.com/competitions/england/premier-league/

now then, the page above *should* auto-detect your timezone from the browser (AZ is on Mountain Std Time [MST], and MST = UTC - 7hrs) but if it doesn't you may have to help it along.

It really only benefits them if it's a 0-0 draw at home, in which case the Blues would win on away goals.  I don't think a scoreless draw is likely to happen.  So, they still need a win at home.  A 1-1 draw and it goes to extra time then PK's.  Any draw more than 1-1. e.g. 2-2, and PSG advances on away goals.

A straight up win is what they need.

Jose has been known to park the bus in the past, but with all their new offensive talent, it would be tougher for Chelsea to do this than last year.

Chelsea park bus before even kicking off at Paris St-Germain

Chelsea's bus driver looks to have taken Jose Mourinho's team-talks quite literally.

Ahead of the Blues' 1-1 Champions League draw with Paris St-Germain at Parc des Princes on Tuesday night, images emerged of their team coach lodged in a stadium gangway.

Blues manager Mourinho has been accused of "parking the bus" in matches - but usually on the pitch, not off it.

it benefits chelsea to some extent in that the away team now HAS to set up and play to score.

previous to the away goals rule, the basic mentality of european cup soccer was "tie away, win at home".  under this approach, the home team would play (hopefully) for a win and the away team would, in modern speak, park the bus across the goal.   now, with away goal advantage implemented, two things happen: 1) the away team is encouraged to play forward, even if it does result in a score draw (1-1, 2-2, etc), and 2) the 2nd leg is more interesting because even if the 1st leg ended in a score draw the away team again HAS to bring players forward.

stevieG is out injured (hamstring) for at least another week or two.
balotelli took his life into his own hands by pulling the ball away from henderson for the PK; if he missed that PK he would have been run out of Liverpool with a tin can tied to his tail.
