Sorry. Misunderstood you - thought you were looking for the duct around the heat sink. You find JP's barrel radiator too small? View Quote Yes, it's nowhere near big enough to make a Lewis gun style cooling system. http://www.partsofsw.com/images/Lewis_100.jpg |

replaced H buffer with carbine buffer and put in a new carbine spring that was a little longer than the one that was in there... seemed to run a bit longer before follow through, range master thought I was running a full auto. And that was with .223, only remembered after I got home from the range that I had m193 in back of closet. I also had the SDN-6 on it.
Would a carbine gas system run faster or not necessarily depending on gas port size? I just ordered a JP low mass carrier and an extra strength JP recoil spring. |

View Quote I am wondering the same thing. I am going to be building a different upper with a mid gas/18" barrel. I would assume that the really important factor is the dwell time, since the recoil of the gun doesn't really begin until after the bullet leaves the barrel. |

View Quote That looks promising. All we need now is a windage adjustable front sight. |

Alright. Done. 16" stainless 1:7 5.56 barrel mid length gas system CMC 3.5lb trigger YHM Phantom 7.62 QD suppressor. Called it: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1659807__99_slidefire_stock.html&page=4#i49178917 The bigger issues are:
1 - They're taking PayPal for payment, which will be shut off shortly, as this is explicitly against PayPal's TOS. 2 - They would appear to violate @ least one of SlideFire's 8 patents, and @ 1/3 of SlideFire's price, will almost certainly provoke legal action. |

Yeah, now I am wishing I did the same. I'm kinda nervous about buying a second at this stage.

View Quote The worst that happens is your CC gets hacked when they fire their IT admin and he leaves their server wide open. Same thing can happen to you shopping @ Target. But they already have your CC on file, so you're no worse off ordering a 2nd one. If they charge you & it never arrives, dispute the charge. |

CMC 3.5lb Yes they were intentional. I work at that range as an RO and we don't allow "Full auto" except when closed, and down closer to the backstop to avoid hitting the floor and ceiling. Another employee I did not know took a lane, stopping us from going forward of the line. So bursts were on purpose so as to not get to wild and hit things I was not supposed to. Backstop is 50 yards away. I have no doubt I could just run the whole mag. |

Has anyone here seen the tensioned barrel shrouds made of aluminum? They make em for the AR-15. Anywho if someone could add a pressure nozzle to to one and hook it up to a CO2 cylinder, you could dump gas into the shroud and cool the barrel down.
