You have one choice. FIGHT THIS MOTHERFUCKER INTO UTTER SUBMISSION

Every recheck I have brings me back to chemo. While I wouldn't wish what you and I have gone through to my worst enemy, I would not trade the experience for anything in the world.

Use the experience, and the time, do become a better person.

If you need a mentor(or your SO needs a caregiver mentor) from someone who has had what you have, at you age, IM me. I volunteer as a mentor with an organization that provides exactly those services, cost free.

Your journey is different than mine, but at the end of the road we are both survivors.

And praying for you as well.

When your daughter comes into this world, when you hear her cry, when she grabs your finger, when you see her at peace, that will bring happiness and joy to you. That positive energy is exactly what's needed for you to keep fighting -- to never give up. Fight that damn cancer with all you have, fight it so that you can scare the shit out of her first date. Fight it so you can give grief to her future fiance. You did it once, you shall do it again.

Prayers to you and your family. Stay strong brother. And when you're down, look at you wife and know that there is a life inside of her. One that you help make. One that will bring much joy to y'all's lives.

This does not apply, to you, because you are going to make it through this.

But I have seen fathers with terminal illnesses, make video diaries, or messages for their children, to read and watch, all through their childhood.

Again, this does not apply to you, but it is something that can help you focus on something, and communicate to your daughter, perhaps help you connect on a deeper level, I dunno.

I know it's easy for me to say, I don't have a diagnosis like yours.....the best advice I can give is to focus on the joy of your daughter. Congratulations on your daughter's birth.

As for verses:

Isaiah 41:10: Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Matthew 6:34: Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.

Matthew 6:25 (my favorite):
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

So sorry your wonderful time is marred by this but you've beaten this once you can do it again, with God's grace.

In the immortal words of Walter White (for a little levity): Every life comes with a death sentence. I haven't received a bad diagnosis yet, but one day I will. All that you can do is be ready to meet the Lord and know that your eternity is secure. Whether this life is 30 years or 100 years, it will still seem like a moment in time.
