Get that so I'll still be the only one awesome enough for the red chevron of the gods

Almost buddy. Almost. Red chevron of the gods checking in.

Tons of people like the green horseshoe.  I tried Rusted's and while there wasn't anything wrong with it, I found it a little "busy" compared to the chevron.

Gotcha. With the chevron do you zero where you put the "hat" on the head? That's how my buddy said they used them.

  Trijicon.

The Trijicon sits significantly lower than the Larue and actually has a notch where it sits over a hump on the optic , so if you bump it it doesnt unscrew your rear objective like the Larue does.

There's actually a whole thing with Ace and the LaRue ACOG/RMR mount.  It's a real bard's song filled with dragons, demons, and epic butthurt.  You should ask him about it sometime.

In the meantime, absolutely do get those cybernetic eyes installed.  The TNV/PVS-14 comes strongly recommended.

Not quite.  The women's upper had the purple ALG, but Superq7's has the 15" Mk8 SMR, which has not been released for sale yet.  It has a full top rail and MLOK sides, whereas the ALG version has MLOK all around.  Supposedly Oct-Nov timeframe, the Mk8 SMR will be available.  Geissele is currently busy back-filling all their old rail orders that piled up during the move (word is, all old orders WILL be filled, no matter what type rail they are, unless you cancel to buy a newer model or something).

The ALG MLOK product was a bit of a surprise.  Not that they made it, but that they were able to make it substantially cheaper than the old version.  The MLOK rail starts at $100 for a 10".  Yeah, one bill for a lightweight free float modular tube.  That's fuckin clownshoes crazytown.

If you still own any non-freefloat ARs, you need to crawl out from under that rock.

Sure, you can just say, well, it's very minimal machining.  You've got two different extrusions, and only a minimum of processes, plus some off the shelf hardware, but $100 is still insane.  Given markup, taxes, and everything, and considering the commercial value of machine time, I figure they're making these with about 10 minutes of machine time or less.  Possibly much less.  That's a triumph of design, right there.  That's industry-changing stuff.

FWIW, they were put up on the website yesterday, and they're apparently very limited quantities right now.  The 12" is already sold out.  If you want a 10" or 13", you'd better buy soon.

http://algdefense.com/rails.html

ETA:  They are making up a bit of money on the rail sections, which are $20 each and sold separately.
