Jogged the hardest 5 mile route on Bragg in under 40. Fuck your PRC.

Nice,which route?

The PRC route. Been running the NTA's from Nursery and 87 SW to Vass and back for the last year. Good 4 mi route that has apparently kept me in half way decent shape.

Make sure your gym lets you Deadlift, has bumpers and it's really nice if they you use chalk. Starting Strength is great for beginners. I never did 5x5 but it looks about the same and I like power cleans.

It is very important to keep a log and progress like the program tells you.

Chalk, I assume to help grip or something? I'll look for Ripp-dude's book tonight.

BTW, I tried to deadlift with a Smith Machine. That doesn't work very well.

Meh. If you can't trash yourself with a grassy area and a wall, you need to know more exercise sadists.

Chalk?  I never use the stuff.

Chinese bar knurling, bros. It's the grip that isn't.

Every workout, I think, "Yeah, I should buy a good bar and some bumpers."
And then I look at what it costs.

Eh, maybe later.

Ehhh, I dunno. I'd rather go with the 16" to stay lighter and somewhat shorter. I still plan on getting a suppressor one of these days.

Got all reps for squats @ 440# today.

Got all reps for 160# bench, too

And got all reps for 155# rows.

Squats were pretty rough, though.  It might take all three days of this next lifting week to get 445, but that'll work nicely, because if it's Saturday I get all my reps for it, I'll try for a single at 500 on the following Tuesday, just because.

Yeh thats how I do it. I'm a firm believer in if you want to get better at something you have to do that something.

we have guys training for conex with bench press. Pullups may get you there. But just because you can do 20 pullups in a row doesn't mean you will be able to conex. And only being able to do 3 at once does not mean you will fail it. You want to get better at handstand walk, handstand walk. Need work on traversing rotating rods. Traverse rotating rods.

Plus weights are expensive. There are plenty of free heavy things out there. Your body is one of them.

I'm always on the lookout for a conex I can get access to.  Pity I wasn't trying to train before I retired from active duty, we had a conex at work that I used to store all of the -21 equipment in.

well.

Of course you just went through the 3 week fat camp.

And then straight into one week of recovery and two weeks of leave.

184 pounds and 13.4% mush. Exactly one pound and .1% BF off where I was coming out of last fall. Time to start putting on lean muscle, again.

Goal before next camping trip is 200 pounds at 10% doughnut, holding a 7 or 11 min pace for 6 miles, 450# DL, 250# bench, and 20 DHPU. Then lose it all all over again, rinse and repeat.

Carry some combat rations would be my advice.

It's on the low end, but that's still 20 pounds of fluff, and 20 pounds is a lot of strawberry dairy shakes.

I'm officially middle aged now, though.

For everyone that has signed up for the Carbine Class with LHT, have you received your email from Curt with the adress and other instructions?

Superq7 and I are planning on driving up to AL early Saturday and then crash somewhere local that evening. We'll drive back on Sunday. Anyone local to the area willing to lend us somewhere inside to crash so we don't have to pay for a hotel?

Any particular firearm laws that I should know about while driving through MS and AL?

Yall are free to stay here and camp on the floor whatnot. Keep in mind im about probably an hour away. I was probably gonna plan to camp with you guys at the hunting lodge or whatever if we were gonna hit my buddies bar afterward.

If thats not the case. We can just grab some beer and come straight to my house and nobody will have to drive after having beers. But that will put you way out of the way heading back home. Im about 30 minutes east of bham on i20 headed to Atlanta.
