Not only talented, but had an involved Dad who actually encourages his son to take responsibility and isn't blaming Baylor/society/Republicans for his son getting kicked off the team?

Seems like he had a lot going for him...sad.  Wonder what the violation was.

Exactly.  You don't see that very often (the parent not making excuses and such).  I'm sure this kid will get picked up at an FCS school in a heartbeat.

Oh, and even though your new avatar is fitting for you username, going and chaning things like that makes it more confusing to identify the people I have on my "shit list" and list of "people to mock, harass, and annoy".

Damn.

Dunno why these guys with all the talent in the world (Josh Gordon and Justin Blackmon, looking at you too) can't keep things straight.  Sad.  Fortunately BU is pretty stacked at WR but a loss like that bites.

Thanks for posting, I'm in the process of moving (what a f'ing nightmare, I hate moving) and that flew right under my radar.

I was surprised they took that Reno on the way they did. I didn't think it would be done in time. Looks like they are working around the clock.

They started day after the last home game and will be working up to the kickoff of the new home game, probably.  Still won't be done, there's more to come.   If they had been willing to play in Reliant down in Houston for a season it could have been done in one year, but the motel and restaurant associations threw a bloody shit fit when that idea came up, so two part renovation it is.

Looking forward to checking out that new scoreboard this year.

If it's a specific contract stipulation, then yes he can be hammered for it. Just like if there is a specific contract provision that requires him to wear a pink bow in his hair whenever out in public. If he signed to it, then yes there should be consequences.

But we all know this is pointless war on rights, empowering the police state war on drugs bullshit.

Did it go through? The various conferences were talking about it, when they did their big meetings a month or so back. I didnt follow up to see what all changes were actually made.

Yup. Really is amazing.

I have no issues with people smoking pot. That said, you make certain decisions when you take on certain positions. Signing a scholarship with a university is one of those. Part of it is not doing drugs that are illegal. Schools have a drug policy...you agree to it when you sign the scholarship.

Just stupid. Especially in Nick's case when he's literally the face of the program right now. He should be fun to watch at media days next week

Thanks to your link, I find that actually, Georgia State (now an FBS school) plays on the 27th against Abilene Christian.

The Georgia Dome is their home stadium and they were allowed to go one day earlier due to all the other stuff going on at the Dome such as Boise State vs Ole Miss on Thursday and Bama versus WVU on Saturday.

Man, downtown Atlanta traffic is normally bad, but 3 FBS games in 4 days at the Dome is gonna be a madhouse.

Oh yeah, the College Football Hall of Fame in downtown Atlanta is opening that week as well.
