And two voted A&M number one.

I like their optimism.

It's hard to disagree with Zhukov, and I think the impressive Kenny Hill performance and possibility of a defensive pulse got folks a little too excited.  One game isn't enough to tell if we're really that good this year or if SC is just a dumpster fire.  Frankly, we probably won't really know how good A&M is until October.  The Arkansas and Miss St games will let us know who this team really is.

Now in the same breath, I'm surprised Ohio State, UCLA and Ole Miss didn't drop more than they did.  They all won, but none of them looked especially good doing it, and all against opponents who likely will not be Top 25 contenders this year.  Maybe I'm wrong and Navy, Virginia and Boise will all be strong teams this year, but I kind of doubt it.

UCLA's offense did almost nothing (21 defensive points!), and both Ole Miss and Ohio had points in garbage time that made the scoreline look much better than the on field performance.

Either way, rankings mainly are just a thing to bitch about.  Just keep winning, and who cares where the media thinks you should be...as long as you end up in the top 4 at the end.

Good chance BYU beats Texas. Texas has also lost their 4 year starting center for the year with a broken ankle. He was one of their 2 returning starters on the OL. Redshirt freshman now taking his place. That is an awful inexperienced line for their backs to have to run behind.

In other news, Texas QB David Ash will miss this week's game vs. BYU with concussion-like symptoms.

It may be time for this young man to hang 'em up.

This is terrible news for Texas, as their offense was inept vs. North Texas.

Now they have Tyrone Swoopes, who was terrible during the spring, and Jerrod Heard, a true Freshman.

Either way they go, they will be playing behind a TERRIBLE O-line.

'Ol Chuck Strong could be looking at 5-7 in his first year at the helm, which to this Aggie, would be awesome

Last year, I didn't dare say anything before the Texas game because after the way BYU played against Virginia I figured Texas would easily kick the crap out of BYU.  I was beyond shocked when it turned out the other way.

From what I have been reading this pre-season Strong has made the BYU game his big priority, so we were expecting to have Texas come out smoking and deliver an epic beatdown.

If they're starting a new QB that is like a gift from heaven; we just might have a chance this year.  Especially since Taysom Hill played lights out last week.

Connecticut had a new O-line, too and BYU's D ate them up.

Now obviously Texas is not Connecticut but starting a new QB and center in the same game is not a good thing for any program.

Agreed.  OSU should lose their pre-Braxton Miller injury ranking.  This season won't be pretty, OSU won't be #5 or higher at the end and frankly they'll be better next year for it.

With only 8 seniors between offense and defense (4 and 4) and only a couple real standouts, now, the team should be much more experienced next year when Braxton Miller plays his final season.  The current crop of seniors, as good as some are weren't exactly the cream of the recruiting class as OSU was mired in scandal when they made their selections.  The 5 star blue bloods are still in the pipeline in most cases.

Truly impressive. That kid is super fast. It is a rear thing to be able to run east/west on FSU. Historically they have always shut down the end arounds, bootlegs, options, etc. most teams have only had success creating holes up the center.

Goodley, Fuller, Norwood, and Coleman all out this week, a couple of them for longer.  That's in addition to Petty (I'm guessing) and our change-of-pace back Chafin.

Looks like we'll be starting the 2015 offense this weekend.  Glad we're playing Northwestern State.

Yeah, based on how this has worked out for others, he is screwed.  Though, he will make it at least through this year by the time the investigation is completed and that is without appeals.

"OCR also advises Title IX investigations should take no longer than 60 day to complete."

An article I read last night said that the school should be about 30 days into this process. So, we might be hearing something fairly soon.

I also didn't know that two of his teammates had watched/ filmed Winston and the woman. The one who did the filming was punished to some degree under the CoC.

So wait a minute, is the crab leg thief in trouble again or is this the same woman from last year?  I thought he was cleared of any wrongdoing (LOL!) in that matter...

Legally he is in the clear, under title ix he is not.  Frank Shannon had a similar situation at OU and got the boot, the process for Shannon though went much quicker.

I thought the university had a time limit do complete this procedure of 60 days from when it was reported.  Obviously that didn't happen, so they may not be able to do anything.  I'm not a title ix expert though.

All this crab leg talk is making me hungry.  Good thing I'll get to try this out on Saturday:

When Kyle Field unveils its ongoing renovations Saturday for Texas A&M's home opener against Lamar, a menu item may steal the show from the high-scoring Aggies.

And because we're in Texas, that menu item is chicken fried. And on a stick.

The chicken-fried steak dog may be a big attraction literally and figuratively, as it's a hand-battered chicken fried foot-long dog that's served on a stick....and there's also dipping jalapeno-cream gravy that goes along with it.

That's one of the few good games this weekend.  Most of the games are total crap.

Ooooohhhhh, Ducks vs Spartans. That should be good!

What say you?!

Can the razzle dazzle of the Ducks stand up to the grinding defense of the Spartans?

Yup. Pretty shitty schedule. If not for the fact that I give a shit about AU, there's not an SEC game that I'd watch. At least we're on ESPN2 this week...

And as for the polls right now...that shit will sort itself out around October.

Nice.  I'm going down this weekend...haven't decided if I'm making it to the Rice game as well.  I live just close enough that I'd drive home afterwards, and with the late kick off and post game traffic I'd be getting home at 3 or 4 am, so I can't decide if it's worth it or not.
