Someone voted LSU #1. View Quote And two voted A&M number one. I like their optimism. It's hard to disagree with Zhukov, and I think the impressive Kenny Hill performance and possibility of a defensive pulse got folks a little too excited. One game isn't enough to tell if we're really that good this year or if SC is just a dumpster fire. Frankly, we probably won't really know how good A&M is until October. The Arkansas and Miss St games will let us know who this team really is. Now in the same breath, I'm surprised Ohio State, UCLA and Ole Miss didn't drop more than they did. They all won, but none of them looked especially good doing it, and all against opponents who likely will not be Top 25 contenders this year. Maybe I'm wrong and Navy, Virginia and Boise will all be strong teams this year, but I kind of doubt it. UCLA's offense did almost nothing (21 defensive points!), and both Ole Miss and Ohio had points in garbage time that made the scoreline look much better than the on field performance. Either way, rankings mainly are just a thing to bitch about. Just keep winning, and who cares where the media thinks you should be...as long as you end up in the top 4 at the end. |

Redshirt freshman now taking his place. That is an awful inexperienced line for their backs to have to run behind. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: In other news, Texas QB David Ash will miss this week's game vs. BYU with concussion-like symptoms. This is terrible news for Texas, as their offense was inept vs. North Texas. Now they have Tyrone Swoopes, who was terrible during the spring, and Jerrod Heard, a true Freshman. Either way they go, they will be playing behind a TERRIBLE O-line. 'Ol Chuck Strong could be looking at 5-7 in his first year at the helm, which to this Aggie, would be awesome Last year, I didn't dare say anything before the Texas game because after the way BYU played against Virginia I figured Texas would easily kick the crap out of BYU. I was beyond shocked when it turned out the other way. From what I have been reading this pre-season Strong has made the BYU game his big priority, so we were expecting to have Texas come out smoking and deliver an epic beatdown. If they're starting a new QB that is like a gift from heaven; we just might have a chance this year. Especially since Taysom Hill played lights out last week. Good chance BYU beats Texas. Texas has also lost their 4 year starting center for the year with a broken ankle. He was one of their 2 returning starters on the OL. Redshirt freshman now taking his place. That is an awful inexperienced line for their backs to have to run behind. Connecticut had a new O-line, too and BYU's D ate them up. Now obviously Texas is not Connecticut but starting a new QB and center in the same game is not a good thing for any program. |

OSU should lose their pre-Braxton Miller injury ranking. This season won't be pretty, OSU won't be #5 or higher at the end and frankly they'll be better next year for it. With only 8 seniors between offense and defense (4 and 4) and only a couple real standouts, now, the team should be much more experienced next year when Braxton Miller plays his final season. The current crop of seniors, as good as some are weren't exactly the cream of the recruiting class as OSU was mired in scandal when they made their selections. The 5 star blue bloods are still in the pipeline in most cases. |
