Haas didn't make lathes way back when ... and Okuma was sold by the Haas dealer at that time.   And as the pics show, I stick with what I know.

But, to answer your question, R&D's Haas lathe is arriving today.

Hopefully it's better than the ST30 my old shop had. Thing had a few bugs and sounded like a 747 when it spun up.

Bugs are worked out, still sounds like a high pitched 747 though.

ETA- maybe not as bad of a high pitch as before, must be breaking in finally.

Haas makes some good stuff.
I have worked on a few of them and the ones we had were pretty much trouble free.

Mine have been OK, not quite as rugged as I first thought. But OK.

We have a Haas tool room and a mini mill.  I can run them OK, but need some adult suprevision from time to time.

You no likey Sullair ?

Sullair makes a damn solid rotary screw, and has for decades - I work for a competitor, but I still have to give Sullair their due respect.  Problem is, their newer machines are starting to depart from their typical robust, slow, simple, open designs to smaller, faster, more complicated, enclosed units.  From what I'm hearing, some of the traditional Sullair bulletproof reliability is being lost, and servicing is becoming more difficult.
But I'm just giving you a hard time 'cause my machines are a different color.   At that level, all the machines are reliable enough, no matter who makes them - it all comes down to application.

But seriously though - metal ducting.  Wooden ducting on a rotary screw is a fire hazard.

Silly boy, that's what the machines do. They machine awesome LT parts and the byproduct/waste from that process is the dust.

Based on the title, you receive multiple trucks of new mills every Monday??!?

Do the mills that were delivered last Monday get sold for scrap, or are they just stored out back?

Damn, I still need one more year of experience.

Y'alls second shift hours are also exactly the same as ours. (Which I work.)

Sooooo tempting to go ahead and put in an application anyway. I'll have to think about it some more tonight.
