In the real world I ignore people all the time.
Using the ignore feature cuts down on the drama queens and general idiots. |

I'm pretty easy going and generally thick skinned, but tolerance is not my religion.
IIRC, in the time I've been on here two people have earned that distinction. One was banned shortly afterward, so apparently site staff concurred. |

I don't have anyone on ignore. Never have, doubt I ever will.

Come on, man, you know you want to.
It's right there. Just one little click... I won't tell anyone - I promise. There it is. |

I have never used mine and I see no reason too. There are a couple on here that piss me off with almost every post, but every now and then they post something that makes me think. Its worth that alone to not ignore.

Man, what a weak bait thread. I dunno if you should keep practicing, you're leagues away from _A certain member.

I use mine to help me recognize idiots. Everyone quotes those fools anyways, so it's not like you don't see what they say. It just makes it quicker to see them. It helps me keep my blood pressure down.
I have noticed that since I started using it that way, that most of them get banned or stop posting.I see very few ignored post's. The only ones who tend to stick around are the female misandrist's that get away with most anything. |

Its very useful. It smooths out the arfcom surfing experience.
Simple fact of the matter is, some folks on here are paid shills for the left, or simply like to stir shit, or incapable of behaving in anything but a juvenile manner. Rather than fall into the trap of propagating their stupidity by responding, it's easier to just not deal with their posts (or threads) at all. It makes my time here incrementally more enjoyable, and by extension makes YOUR time here more enjoyable by not having to skim my agitated replies to some retard. Assuming I'm not already on your list, of course. |
|
I use mine - but not as an "ignore" list. More like a "Click here once you've prepared yourself".
I always show their posts, but it helps prevent my accidentally stumbling upon the derp :) |
|
I use mine and found that many of my ignored users end up banned .
|

No thanks, there's some autistic guy that only posts pictures in lieu of words in cop threads. I think that's about it, though.

I've got two but one must be banned now. Had him tagged as a holocaust denier. Hasn't posted since Jan. and no longer shows up on the member search menu. The other I don't mind most of his posts but have him tagged as "dishonest do not EE". I'd be perfectly happy to unlock him if I could put a red flag by his name. View Quote Yeah that's the problem. There is no way to flag a member that you don't want to do business with. |

There have been a few times, usually in the anti-Texas threads but I have held off. I have enough stress in my life than to be mad at some guy in another state.
