Your poll sucks. It needs an option for those of us that haven't let the media change their opinion.
99% of law enforcement officers are good caring people. It's the other 1% that makes the news. You never hear about that cop that stops by the old lady's house every day to check on her because he knows she lives in a bad neighborhood. You never hear about the one that takes a starving stray dog he found while patrolling his area home. You never hear about the one that helped that disabled guy change a flat tire on the side of the road. |

Noisy people are always a minority, including cops, so the usual LEO mouthpieces here are rather predictable.
I will say in general that over the years it's pretty evident what The Thin Blue Line actually means and it's little more complicated than an "Us against them" motto....which isn't exactly confidence inspiring. I think there are equal measure of solid, honorable, professional LEO's as well as those who embrace their JBT options and actions in life. Based on the profession, it only makes sense that both are attracted to this line of work.

I know most cops are good guys. I have friends who are cops. But i also know that some are shitbags. That small minority of shitbag cops are what makes me do everything I can to avoid all cops.
Knowing that they have the power to destroy my life because they are having a bad day, is what separates then from other shitbags in other professions. Most of the cops who post here seem like real good guys, then there's a few who actually make me think "what the actual fuck" when I read their posts regarding anything to do with law enforcement. |

There are a certain percentage of assholes per capita in every walk of life! The percentage is the same across the board! But after reading some of the posts on here I have become less trusting of LEO as a group, I do have family members on the job but it does not change my opinion! It seems to be a a good number feel they are higher in the food chain!

Having read many anti-LEO post has made me feel unnerved about the average citizen in this country and just what their agenda really is. I have seen many Military and LEO Oath Keepers but I have never seen a group of citizens swear to abide by reasonable laws set forth in this country. As someone said earlier it only takes one or two bad apples to make everyone in that group look bad.

No there is good and bad in the world, some good cops some bad cops just like in any profession.
I deal with people on an individual bases. I do form a quick opinion if you have a neck tattoo or neck beard, but I try not to judge. |

I am disappointed by how the police have become increasingly heavy handed as witnessed by the increase use of SWAT teams to conduct raids, the warrantless searches of homes in the wake of the Boston Marathon, the unjustified use of force, the arrest of follks engaged in lawful activities. We have strayed from what I was taught at the academy.
