For anyone that believes in a minimum wage, always ask why it shouldn't be $100 higher.

Without being very knowledgeable about the ecconomics of it, I think there should be a State min wage.
Minimum Wage sets a base that can be used to gague what someone should make. Without a designated low, it's hard to define how much someone's emp0loyment is worth. State should dicatate as some states have a much highe/lower cost of living |

um, i'm curious as to why OP thought this would even be a question here.

Poll fail.
No state, no federal, no local, just facking no minimum wage. |

A minimum wage has none of the positive economic effects in the long run that its proponents express a desire for, and has the opposite/negative effect in many cases.
Hell no. |
|
[#14]
No to either. I should be allowed to pay someone what they are worth, and people should be allowed to work for what they feel they are worth.

[#15]
Min wage should only be set by the employer paying it. The state and fed should stay the hell out of the way.
The employer owns the job.... He allows the individual to work it. The individual sets his value and decides if he will accept the position. The government has absolutely no right to interfere in a private matter. Oh and FBHO And edit to include: I'm sure the statists will be happy to tell us how these ideas are so good you have to forced by law to implement them..... |

Seems to work OK...except for the real poor areas of the state. But people just need to move out of those depressed areas. |

It's a bad idea, but it would be constitutional for a state to establish one. The feds have no authority to establish one outside federal enclaves.

I'm a big fan of the Universal Minimum Wage... which has remained unchanged since it's inception.

Hell No !! Minimum wage causes price inflation and higher unemployment, among a host of other problems

I don't have a huge problem with a minimum wage law designed to prevent child slavery. That said, there is a problem when an adult is not worth more per hour than a kid. Is the adult that worthless, or are the kids being offered too much because of the law.

Poll fail. Minimum wage is between individuals, not Governments.
I should be allowed to pay for my production if I so choose. And I so choose |

There's not should be any minimum wage period.
That said , if the states want to fail at basic economics let them and let business pack up shop and move somewhere else where the cost of doing business and living is lower. |

States should be the only entity to allow a minimum wage. The Federal Government should not have their hand in it.
With that said, those on minimum wage are miniscule. Less than 4% of the working population work at, or lower than, the minimum wage. This statistic is about the same for those states with a higher minimum wage than the Federal Governments. |

minimum wage hurts the poor the worst. If min wage is $10 per hour, and your skills are worth $9 per hour, no one can legally employ you.
