Our fascination. With celebrities is really interesting. I think that's why so many people who run into them have a bad experience. Either the celebrity is a jackass due to ego of being burned out on not being able to be in public without getting mobbed, or you realize that it's just another flawed person with a really high profile job. Either way is kind of a let down.

the singer from the 80's? Figured she'd coked out years ago, had no clue she was in a movie. She co-starred with Debbie Gibson. Oh, that tiffany. She did a playboy spread in the 90's. |

Vanilla ice is actually a very successful Real Estate guy, he used his rap money to flip mansions, and made more money doing that instead. I think he's got his own show on HGTV, too. Also, I see that Penn Gillette is also in the picture, another pretty awesome guy. ETA: I will note that it looks like working a fryer comes pretty naturally to Vanilla, no doubt. |

I got to be on stage with Bob Hope once. Gen. William Westmoreland was there too. In San Anotnio during the filming of one of his Christmas Specials in the early to mid 90's
I was'nt supposed to be on stage. I was there as a back-up for another guy. Since the original guy showed up late and missed the rehersals, I got to go on, and he sat back stage. I got in a bit of a gun control argument with Ron Nobel back when he was the deputy secretary of treasury for enforcement in the clinton administaration. Now he's the Chief of INTERPOL. The argument was pecifically about shall issue concealed carry. He was against it. Then years later after that terrorist attack on that mall in Kenya, he makes a statement that maybe we should take another look at allowing people to carry guns for self defense. Thanks for being a day late and a dollar short there Ron. |

I haven't met any actors, but I've met David Nail, total prick.
Randy Houser was a good guy. Joe Nichols is probably the best famous person I've met. An incredible musician and just a damn good guy to talk with. I go see him every time he comes in town. |

Alfred Hitchcock, in an elevator. I was young, but had seen a couple of his movies. I told him I liked his movies. He said, "Of course you do, young man."
Don Henley - in an elevator. He'd just done a private concert (which was awesome) and was going to bed. Terry O'Quinn - met him at the same party I met Henley. He didn't like me chatting up his hot girlfriend. I told him I loved him in 'The Stepfather.' He said, "Whoa, that's way back there." Neil Anderson - on a golf course for a benefit tourney. Awesome guy. Called me coach. Let me ride in his cart when the holes were far apart. Vinny Testaverde - on the same golf course. Complete douchebag. He wouldn't sign an autograph for two girls that asked. Didn't want people tagging along with his group during a benefit tournament. Tony Dungy - at the Devil Rays' first game at the Trop. Signed my Rays hat. That's about it for me. |

I love these "Celeb" posts. One pops up every few months...
I met a number of times, and had lunch with John Wayne. It seemed up until the mid 70's he was always at his Yacht, which was docked about 75yds from my grandmothers summer trailer at Lido Park, Newport Beach, Ca...At least everytime we visited that is. The first time I met him in very early seventies I was too young to really know who he was. I remember everybody acting "Different" around him, and he looked just like my grandfather. I could post up a long boring story about burgers at the Lido canteen, and lemonaid on his boat, but I won't. Met Goerge Foreman when I was involved with Job Corps in the early 90's. Goerge was a former Job Corp alum, and would visit Job Corp sites around the US. Really nice humble guy, that didn't leave until the very last person had his time...And did it all with a smile. Met Goerge RR Martin at Worldcon a few years back. Ran into he and his wife a few times during the convention, had him sign my book. Once again he was a nice humble guy, that went out of his way for people. Met Dr. Demento at the same convention, that dude is a self absorbed Dick. Met Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) at another local convention. Poor guy looked out of it, and less than enthused with the situation. I guess the years of endless Star Wars geeks has taken its toll on him! As to the OP? I agree, very cool that she actually jumped with them. |
