I found this at a gun show awhile back. I gave $40 for it with the storage tube but can't find much about it. Thoughts?

What does the writing on the tube say?

Looks like a training round used to practice fuse setting and loading.
ETA: got a picture of the base? They're generally marked with date, type of round, etc. |

The writing on the tube cannot be read.
The base says: 3" DUMMY CARTRIDGE MK 50 CAL SHC |

It's just what it says it is - a dummy 3" shell with steel warhead and detachable variable time fuse with ranging dial for practice drills.
IMHO, being it has the storage tube, you stole it for $40. |

Cool, thanks! I do see where the top piece is marked "DUMMY MK 22 FUZE" now after looking at it in bright light so I would say you are spot on. I just thought it looked cool and couldn't pass it up :) |
