New York GOP Rep. Peter King is undecided about a 2016 presidential run and starkly behind the presumptive front-runners when it comes to fundraising and organization.

But the 11-term congressman clearly has a full-fledged campaign to convince Americans the government must remain vigilant against the constant threat of terror and to warn them about the GOP being overtaken by what he considers the party's isolationist wing -- led by likely White House hopefuls Sens. Rand Paul and Ted Cruz.

“I don’t want them to become the dominant view,” he told FoxNews.com this week. “They are dangerous to the country and the [Republican] Party. At the very least, this has given me an opportunity to keep the party from becoming so isolationist. There needs to be another voice out there.”

King didn’t use Congress’ spring break to revisit the key presidential-campaign state of New Hampshire, but he still had a busy week on the national stage -- unapologetically pressing his points about the United States needing to remain tough on foreign policy as well as national security and intelligence.

If this guy won the primary, I would really lose hope for this country. But I guess it depends for what party he would be running for in the primaries. He would be a perfect fit for the democrat party.

He's the spoiler to draw votes from ill informed Yankees away from someone like Rand Paul so the RNC's pick can squeak through.

Worrying about the 2016 election is pointless now.

Let us take the US Senate, get rid of Boehner and maybe a few other inept House reps and start making progress dismantling the Obama failure.

Do the GOP higher ups know that Pete King and Porkchop's message is not going to sell in the South and part of the West.

Are they trying to out Democrat the Democrat nominee and win the both coasts and the rust belt(blue states)?  Does this mean that they think The South and West are irrelevant?  Hmm.

As far as that goes...

George W. Bush said he'd re-sign the AWB if it came to his desk.  It never did.  I'd say the 8 years of W were pretty decent for gun owners.

I don't know a lot about King, but I'm pretty sure he be better than McCain or Romney.  Yeah yeah, I know that's not saying much.  He might have some pull in bringing in a New England state or two.  Otherwise, say hello to President Hillary Clinton.

Well, those states voted for RINO's in the last two elections, so they are counting on them doing it again.  In their mind, the key is how to lure centrists and the non-crazy wing of the Democrat party while keeping the base on board.   If you think about it, its not really a bad strategy, even though its not what we want to hear.

"I voted for the assault weapon ban back in 1994. My father was a police officer. I really don't know why people need assault weapons," King said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe." "I'm not a hunter, but I understand people who want to hunt. I understand people who live in rough neighborhoods or have a small business and want to maintain a pistol to protect themselves so long as they're properly vetted and licensed. But an assault weapon, listen, I'm sure 99 percent of people who own assault weapons are good Americans, but to give that potential to a mass murderer who would be able to outarm the police, who as we saw could carry out the worst devastation."

King continued, "Why the issue of an assault weapon should even be on the table, why we want to identify with that when it’s a vocal minority, but it is a minority who support these weapons."

King recorded a gun control ad for the New York’s Democratic Party

He is a long time gun banner. Fuck him.

ETA:

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, recipient of the Allard K. Lowenstein Award for Public Service for his leadership in passing the New York SAFE Act. Introduced at the event by Congressman Peter King–a Republican and sponsor of H.R. 1565, the House’s gun background check bill–Governor Cuomo spoke passionately about how gun laws like NY SAFE are just common sense, and that one’s right to have a gun does not override one’s right to be safe. While some have claimed that the NY SAFE Act was passed too soon– just a month after the Sandy Hook shootings–the Governor said it was in fact passed too late. How many lives would have been saved if such a strong gun safety law had been passed years before?

ETA2: King a big supporter of the SAFE act which did this. Notice that possession of a machine gun or bomb is a non violent felony while possession of a post ban magazine is a violent felony with a mandatory prison sentence.

Peter King has absolutely no use for the 2nd Amendment.  He in all actuality is a bigger RINO than McStain.  Peter King has absolutely no support beyond the liberal Republicans in New England and the Mid Atlantic states. King would insure a Hillary victory if he becomes the Republican candidate in 2016
