New York GOP Rep. Peter King is undecided about a 2016 presidential run and starkly behind the presumptive front-runners when it comes to fundraising and organization.
But the 11-term congressman clearly has a full-fledged campaign to convince Americans the government must remain vigilant against the constant threat of terror and to warn them about the GOP being overtaken by what he considers the party's isolationist wing -- led by likely White House hopefuls Sens. Rand Paul and Ted Cruz. “I don’t want them to become the dominant view,” he told FoxNews.com this week. “They are dangerous to the country and the [Republican] Party. At the very least, this has given me an opportunity to keep the party from becoming so isolationist. There needs to be another voice out there.” King didn’t use Congress’ spring break to revisit the key presidential-campaign state of New Hampshire, but he still had a busy week on the national stage -- unapologetically pressing his points about the United States needing to remain tough on foreign policy as well as national security and intelligence. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/04/20/ny-gop-rep-king-unsure-about-white-house-run-but-his-campaign-message-appears/?intcmp=latestnews |

If this guy won the primary, I would really lose hope for this country. But I guess it depends for what party he would be running for in the primaries. He would be a perfect fit for the democrat party.

At this point I'd be happy to vote for nearly anyone not a Bush or Clinton.

Pete King could jump into a running wood chipper and I still wouldn't give a care.

The base is going to love him. All he needs to to know is say that he respects the 2nd Amendment and that he is backing down on his prior record he will be a shoe in.

Worrying about the 2016 election is pointless now.
Let us take the US Senate, get rid of Boehner and maybe a few other inept House reps and start making progress dismantling the Obama failure. |

Do the GOP higher ups know that Pete King and Porkchop's message is not going to sell in the South and part of the West.
Are they trying to out Democrat the Democrat nominee and win the both coasts and the rust belt(blue states)? Does this mean that they think The South and West are irrelevant? Hmm. |

View Quote As far as that goes... George W. Bush said he'd re-sign the AWB if it came to his desk. It never did. I'd say the 8 years of W were pretty decent for gun owners. I don't know a lot about King, but I'm pretty sure he be better than McCain or Romney. Yeah yeah, I know that's not saying much. He might have some pull in bringing in a New England state or two. Otherwise, say hello to President Hillary Clinton. |

View Quote Well, those states voted for RINO's in the last two elections, so they are counting on them doing it again. In their mind, the key is how to lure centrists and the non-crazy wing of the Democrat party while keeping the base on board. If you think about it, its not really a bad strategy, even though its not what we want to hear. |

Nope. Even with Graham campaigning for him SC would be a no.

At this point I'd be happy to vote for nearly anyone not a Bush or Clinton. Peter King has absolutely no use for the 2nd Amendment. He in all actuality is a bigger RINO than McStain. Peter King has absolutely no support beyond the liberal Republicans in New England and the Mid Atlantic states. King would insure a Hillary victory if he becomes the Republican candidate in 2016 |

Nope, anyone who thinks the ideas behind the Tea Party are a bad thing is just another part of the problems.
Not to mention eleven terms in office. Time to move on to trying to actually doing something productive. |

Rep. Peter King (R-NY) on Thursday questioned why anyone needs to own assault weapons, reiterating his support for a ban on such firearms.
"I voted for the assault weapon ban back in 1994. My father was a police officer. I really don't know why people need assault weapons," King said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe." View Quote Nuff said. |

He's been more divisive than anyone I can think of in the party. Makes Christie look like a right winger.
