Over the years, ARFCOM has tempted me in to many things... building 2 ARs myself, a nice P226R, a Benelli M1S90, and other guns that could be considered among the finer things. But yesterday, my life took a sharp turn towards the gutter. |

Never.
Ever. Buy a hipoint. Those bulk packs of ammo were worth more than that gun. Trade it back. |

Hi-Point the best of the POS handguns.
ETA. Actually, albeit a big heavy clunky handgun, they are reliable and do what they are supposed to do. Discharge a round. They will never win a contest for most elegant weapon, but they will work |

It looks like they updated the grips, unless those are aftermarket, lol.
Why do cheap guns look so cheap? Same with cars.
|
|
I get that they're reliable and cheap, but why are they so massive and ugly?

I was selling a SIG P226 on a local board once and had a guy offer me 2 used Highpoints for my SIG, he said each one came with one mag and would do the trade straight up.
I asked if he was serious and what cash he would include and he took offense and got mad at me. I of course didn't do the trade. They may be big and ugly but they go bang every time and the warranty is outstanding. |

Also, how did hi-points survive the era of 99$ commie pistols? A Makarov, Tokarev, or CZ-52 would be a better choice if you know anything about pistols, right? |

He said that in all his years of doing the job, short of the gun being broke in half at the slide he has NEVER had a Hi-Point not fire regardless of how bad a shape they were in. He is a gun snob of the highest order and his safe if full of high end exotic custom guns so hearing him sing praises for this type of gun means a lot. He claims that when he took the factory tour that they bake the finish on in two or three used kitchen ovens the owner bought at a yard sale because their old industrial bake oven was broke down, and he never stopped using them to this day because his production numbers have settled in around the process they use. The yellow front sight is John Deere Yellow because when he built the first prototypes its what he had in his shed, |
