Sure seems like a lot of the "life members" don't have an eagle here. Maybe they don't know it's free. Edit: not doubting anyone but show some pride, I wear the life pin on my ball cap, have an eagle etc. View Quote Maybe they don't know how? See here for NRA life member icon Just send a photo of your membership card (I used a screen shot of my membership info page from the website) and your username to [email protected] and you'll have your eagle shortly thereafter. |

I am an annual member and won't go any higher until they start working on repealing the NFA. View Quote Pushing to legalize FA would fail at this time. I think it might happen someday. Look at how ARs have taken over. We have seen a sea change in how EBRs are perceived. This could lead to acceptance of FA as well. But you have to win today's fights, first. FA is still a toxic topic for us, which is why in Heller Stevens brought up the issue of FA: he was using a scare tactic that the 2nd accepted as an individual right would eventually apply to FA as well. |

Lifetime/endowment member.
If only every gun owner supported imagine how much pull we could have. |

I forgot to use this I forget it all the time. Well, the Eagle icon does kind of explain the purpose of the comment. Some catch on quick and some don't. |

Hell yeah I do. I'm convinced if the NRA didn't scare the shit out of many policians, we'd of had an AWB after the school shooting in Connecticut.

Endowment member checking in.... View Quote The hatred, vilification, name calling, and lies about the NRA from the anti-gun left tells me all I need to know. They would not be so rabid and afraid of an organization that had no power or influence. Anyone who ignores that because they get a few pieces of unwanted mail in their mailbox, is an idiot who is part of the problem |

If you're pro 2nd amendment and aren't a member of the NRA, you're a fool.

I have mixed feelings on the NRA, but I'm a member through 2019.

I support just about any group or individual that supports my 2A rights but no one has done more than the NRA in the last, what, 20 years?
They went from Fudds who thought no one needed EBRs to true believers that EBRs are the canary in the coal mine and that to grab ANY gun will result in grabbing ALL guns. |

During the Clinton admin, it felt like the NRA was more about appeasement and showing a kinder gentler side than Charlton Heston proclaiming "From my cold dead fingers" and the rise of the Machiavellian Wayne LaPierre. |

Life member who makes regular contributions to NRA and NRA-ILA. If you care about the right to own firearms, you either need to be out their lobbying or paying someone to do it for you. It is how the system works.

I've never understood why gun owners would hate the most effective pro-gun lobby in the country. Even in states that repeatedly elect a majority of anti-gun politicians the NRA is still present and fighting. View Quote The NRA isn't perfect, but they have done a lot to our protect gun rights. Most of the gun owners who bash the NRA are just union members and/or libtards who don't like the fact that the NRA supports way more Republicans than Democrats. |

Have been a member since I turned 18.
People love to hate the NRA, but at the end of the day when liberal politicians complain about the gun lobby ruining their plans for "sensible" steps on guns, who do they cry about? "The god damned evil NRA" That's all any thinking second amendment supporter needs to know. The NRA did it first and better than any other "ideologically pure" group out there, and I'm going to stick with them as the best hope for protecting my freedom moving forward. ETA::Also, its a hell of a bonus when you have an unsuspecting liberal in sheep's clothing who thinks they are preaching to the chior (due to my moderate stance on other social issues) says shit like "I'm all for 2nd amendment rights but I hate the NRA". I gleefully tell them that "I'm a member, so does that mean you hate me?", then sit back and watch one of two things occur: 1) A backpedal extravaganza. 2) A demonstration of how miserably uniformed they are about the NRA or guns in general. |

I would support them showing more of a "Second Amendment" less of a "Lets Go Hunting" public appearance. I know this will anger some and they will say prove it with links that they don't or that they already do and I am a weenie or some other name calling. I am a member. I am currently trying to decide if I am going to continue to be a member. View Quote The NRA of 40 years ago was "Let's Go Hunting." It has not been that way for a long time. What's more, the NRA is becoming supportive of things it would have been afraid to touch even ten years ago, such as challenges to the constitutionality of gun control laws in court, open carry, and above all, in my view, constitutional carry. |
