Seen him in concert once, great singer.

Now every time I hear The wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald I say a little prayer for Jeff, may he rest in Peace.

I still can't believe the Gordon Lightfoot never even sent out a distress call. Glad Ed Fitzgerald wrote that song.

I'm sure that's sarcasm, but it was the moody blues who sang that one. I can't stand them, but that's a decent song all the same.

I LOVE Gordon Lightfoot! Do you guys know where he got the name of the song Carefree Highway?
He was driving north on I-17 from Phoenix Arizona to Flagstaff and there is a road  sign of Carefree Highway which is exit 223!
This is a regular song around  camping trip fires here!

I had "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" stuck in my head literally from November to February this past winter.

Only if she was an icebreaker and not an ore carrier.  Has that crap started to break up yet?  I expect the ol' Missus-hip will finally get some barge traffic freed up...  (Yes, I know the Great Lakes don't drain that way, just a comment about all the damn cold and snow this global warming thing has fussed up for us!)

What I came to post. I can't hear that song without thinking of that thread, him, his family, that painting and how many top shelf people I share this sight with.

I hope his wife and boy are making a go of things as well as can be expected.
