Also, the students are the ones doing the actual cheating at the expense of other student competitors, so they do bear some of the fault, too. Whether you take the competitions seriously isn't really the point. The point is there were rules and now, there no longer are. To put a finer point in it: technically, there are still rules, but they are not enforced against some competitors and the reason is the immutable characteristic of the cheaters' race. While the workings of "debate" as a competitive endeavor may not be of interest to you, the situation described above can reasonably be seen as a part of a larger trend. It is analogous to preferential treatment/rule waiving for blacks in all competitive endeavors academic and real world; especially those endeavors where circumstances present a particular individual black person who cannot win on meritorious grounds and has the bar lowered as a concession to their race. The larger issue is real and pervasive. This is just a symptom. Acknowledging it as such is not an exercise of simian feces throwing by GD neckbeards. |

Resolved is a documentary that focuses on High School debate and touches on the racial aspect when black debaters essentially refuse to debate as an act of defiance of racism. It's worth a watch if you like documentaries.
