probably an old late 1800's Belgian made piece....clean it up and look for Belgian proofs on the barrel and receiver where they close-up

Side lever reminds me of Hopkins and Allen.
No idea for sure, though. Several hardware stores of the period had their own brands. Sears. JC Penny, Monkey Wards. |

It's a Boat Anchor. You can see the manufacturer's mark in the second photo.

there were hundreds of gunmakers when that thing was hammered out, without cleaning or finding that symbol off the buttplate it's gonna be tough

It's usually the extractor that rusts solid on these old doubles......trying to force the action open with that frozen guarantees things will get broken.........
take off the fore-end first, soak the extractor area and pivot points in Kroil, then get back to us in a few days.... |
