I have a friend that is a NY State Trooper Retired - One of his buddies supposedly "in the know" said they truly only had a few dozen registered outside of police officers until the beginning of 2014. The numbers picked up and supposedly they are in the neighborhood of about 2500 registered far less than 1% of the estimated 1 million plus that could be considered assault weapons.

I'm sure it effected its intent. Turn honest, law abiding people into criminals, so the gov can persecute them for political ends.

I wonder if the lack of compliance in Ct encouraged some New Yorkers not to register?
