Taser has saved lots of lives and has documented reduction of injuries for both officers and suspects. People died all the time in police custody before tasers came along. Name one cop, security, volunteer or military person that has died from being tased in training. You can use the whole wide world to find an example. |

Way to close for the Taser to do it's thing.
At that range it merely inflicts pain. Taser ain't a fighting or defensive weapon, it's an ambush weapon. |

If two cops couldn't do the job, you got four. If four didn't do it, 6... 8... 10... whatever it took. Back in the day, you could use "whatever means necessary" to affect an arrest. I saw a video here last week where 2 cops were fighting a big black man and he actually took the baton away from the cop. It reminded me of something I learned as a rookie. Me and my training officer were going into a bar where there was a fight. I took out my baton and wrapped my hand around the stick with a leather strap. My TO said, "Don't do that!" So I didn't. Later he told me that a guy could grab the stick and jerk me around if my hand was tied to the stick. I asked him, "But what if he tries to take it away from me?" He said, "Let him. Then he will be armed with a dangerous weapon. Pull your pistol and shoot him full of holes." Oh, for the good old days. |
