I thought that Rum only comes from Puerto Rico, like how Tequila only comes from Mexico?

This brand? It's "okay". It's not Bacardi, so it's better than what most rum drinkers will ever taste.

Finally - someone who understands that good rum is not meant to be drowned in Coke or diluted with ice.  Thank you!

Well, it isn't as good as my 7yo Havana Club sitting in my cabinet, but it'll do.

As far as PR rums, Don Q is far superior to Bacardi.

This. I hardly ever drink rum, but when I do I try and get Don Q. Been a while since I've seen it at our Sam's Club.

Made in the Cayman islands

Bullshit post.  Best rum comes from Barbados, Mount Gay or Cockspur.  (No jokes about the names please).

For a proper Dark & Stormy though, gotsa to have the Black Seal from Bermuda.

20 years ago I was on an island off of the coast of Belize. Local rum was in any kind of bottle or jar that could be had. Labels were very crude. Think masking tape. Damn that was good stuff.

Lived in Puerto Rico many years ago. DonQ rum + young Puerto Rican women make you realize that the best things in life are produced on "the isle of enchantment t". Love them both, but unfortunately, the rum ages better than the young women.

My "Spring Tequila Tour" is winding down and this thread has piqued my interest. I don't want to head to the liquor store tomorrow and buy the top shelf stuff, but which of those mentioned is pleasant enough to enjoy on the rocks but won't cost an arm and a leg?
