I saw another round of "you guys don't own ar15s,or even guns" by some perenial arf whiners. My suspicion has always been that the worst shots are the guys who talk about how bad everyone else shoots and the biggest fatty chasers are the guys who talk about how everyone else is a 40 year old virgin living in mom's cellar anyway anonymous poll for the confessions of non gunowner GD oddballs, feel free to confess in the thread too View Quote You need a multiple troll option. |

Had to sell both of my ARs during the scare. Still have my hunting shotguns.
Should have another rifle by next fall. |

I don't own an AR and don't really see the need for one at this time. I have handguns for home defense and normally prefer to shoot them vs rifles.
I've considered getting something piston-based like the Sig, but I just don't go to the range nearly enough to justify it. I think I shoot rifles once every 2-3 years on average, sometimes longer. |

I own 1 and 3/4's AR15s... the goal is for 3 complete rifles and 1 AR pistol. Then just mess with and build uppers and get into reloading afterwards!

I own no assault rifles or 30 round clips!
I’m just here for the airsoft! I built my first AR in 1985 I delivered pizzas on weekends while I was on active duty to pay for it. I’m currently working on an AR 10 on a CMMG lower that takes G3 magazines. |

Way back when, I was under the impression that it was considered gauche to post here without owning an ar15. I didn't join until I did.

What are AR-15?
I got lost on my way to the BATFE website, and ended up here. |
|
when i signed up here I did not own any guns. I wanted to learn as much as I could first. Now I am a gun owner and have been since a few months after joining. Well up until the accident.
The idea of someone who does not own at least 1 gun or at least someone who WILL be buying a gun soon being a member of this site is..........not right IMO. At the same time if you believe in your rights and support gun ownership we are all on the same side and I love you....even if you lack the proper "equipment" girly man. I also like to troll. |

Poll fail. We need the "I own ARs, Rifles, and other guns" option.

I must confess....I'm a troll.
Fwiw, I haven't owned a rifle since 1979. |
|
I have one of those things w/ the shulder thing that goes up.
Not really, but I might know someone that does. |

I once held an AR15, but didn't fire it. Haven't washed my hands since that day, 11 yrs ago.

Flawed poll.
What percentage of those who answered that they don't own guns are referring to tragic boating accidents? |

Purchased my first on 16th January 1981. Back then, Colt was just about all there was out there in terms of quality. The other manufacturers like Sendra and others I can't even remember anymore didn't usually make complete rifles.
For a while in the '70s, "CAR-15" kits were offered by vendors like Lonnie Lambert, who used to advertise as "Old Sarge" in SGN. Lonnie had been a cook in the USN during WWII, which always gave me a chuckle. Walking into his warehouse in Lincoln, NM was like being in Heaven. Lord, did he have a lot of treasures in there. We had a lot of exotic choices back then-Belgium FN FALs, SA, Inc BM-59s, HK 91s, 93s, and 94s, Swiss AMTs and PE 57s (not that they were very common), IMI Galils, Finnish Valmets, and more domestic rifles like AR-180s. That time period seems like the golden age of gunshows. Lots of new, exotic hardware, along with older WWII-era surplus weapons, parts, tools, and accessories like bayonets. Later on, Chinese AKs starting pouring into the country, along with a few Hungarian AKMs with either fixed or folding stocks. Styer was importing Egyptian Maadi AKs starting in either the late '70s or early '80s. If I could only go back in time and make a few different choices..... |

I only have a complete lower for now...Got tired of lugging my heavy SR556 around the ranch. I cant say I miss having one much, other gun projects keep stealing money from the new upper fund. If it wasn't for the prospect of new laws I'd sell the lower and my mountain of mags and finish everything else I have going. I have a bunch of other rifles.
