Good luck collecting property taxes from the former tenants,  now owners.  Stupid bastards never think logically.

Within 5 years the buildings will be uninhabitable.   Great social experiment.  I look forward to seeing once again why socialism always fails.

Already done.  Instead of a presidential decree, the late Mayor Coleman Young told all of the white residents to move north of Eight Mile Road (the northern city limits).  Most of them did.  Property values are now worth pennies on the dollar, and most of Detroit is vacant and blighted.

Never again will the leader of Venezuela be upstaged in the mustache department at a global dictatorship club meeting.

We should do the same with the housing projects.  Get the government out of the housing industry and give it to the tenants.  Then they'll be instantly "rich" and will have to fend for themselves and if they trash the place, it's their problem.

Wait.

Explain this, I don't understand.

If you're a property owner and has own said property for more than 20 years and is renting it out you're going to be required to sell it to the renters at a price the gov't sets?

Is that correct?

Yes.  That's the gist.  Essentially eminent domain, but a transfer of private ownership, with the State dictating the details.

When a person robs you at gun point, resisting in a similar fashion is not murder.  It's a little thing we call patriotism.  I hope they resist this tyrant effectively and in a manner consistent with the Virginia State Seal

Colombia doesn't need the drama that would result with Ecuador stepping in, and the rest of S. America saying that the Evil American Capitalists were behind it.

Brasil has enough oil of its own and doesn't need it, nor want the drama associated with taking over a failed nation.

Ioseph remains the standard bearer.  Maduro still has some work in that department.  He has passed Lukashenko now, though.  That was a major milestone.

It will look even better with a bullet hole right in the centre.

Those cheap flat screen tv sets will look great in their owners' new properties, all of which will end up mortgaged and defaulted in about seven years.
