I haven't, but seen it done once when we were shooting MP5's at the same time as Glock 22's. Some 9mm made it into the Glock 22.

Dumbass friend of mine shot some 9mm out a 40SW pistol of mine.

Didn't seem to harm the gun.  But I came to my senses soon after and decided to never own another 40SW gun.

Kinda why I talked myself out of getting conversion barrels for my .40's.

Confusion is confusing.

Just for goofs I dropped a 5.56 blank down the barrel of my 1911, pointed it up in the air and pulled the trigger.  I didn't really think it would work.

Damn thing went off and so did my Plt Sgt.

Did that once - all was well.

Shot a .243 out of a 30-06 - gun was fine, just the case flared.

I did learn with the .243 mistake to keep things better separated, and have not repeated the mistake.

Have run .380 through a 9mm without issue. Technically my wife did. No harm no foul.

I bought a cheap box of American Eagle .308 at a local shop to zero my new scope with, and found a round of .243 mixed in there at the range.  Luckily I noticed it before I loaded it.

I took it back to my LGS and showed the owner, who figured out what happened.  A guy had bought a box of that stuff earlier in the week, and then returned it a few days later.  We checked all the other boxes and all were well.

I don't think he takes returns on ammo anymore either.

I'm fairly certain I shot a 40s&w out of my p220 45acp ..

It was an idpa match. I had loaded my mags real quick out of a bag of reloads. Later on I caught a 40 in the bag and was like wtf? Thought back and I had a really light round that caused a FTE after it. Plus it sounded weird - but I knew the projectile hit, specifically low.

Needless to say it was the last time I used reloads that aren't mine.

Not 100% sure it was a 40. Didn't find the brass nor did I even bother looking.   But I'm pretty positive over all.

Of course the age old 380 through a 9mm.

I had a guy chamber a 9mm in my .45.

Luckily that just does nothing.

Found this one at the range one day, 40 shot in a 45.

I shot nearly 100 rounds of 45 GAP out of my Glock 21.  No malfunctions.  I only noticed when I looked down and saw two different sizes of brass (both ACP and GAP).

a 10mm round made it into a 1911 mag. I knew right away something was off because the report was much quieter and recoil was light. It gave me an FTE that I slipped out with my pocketknife blade. All was well.

Not really.
.22 LR uses a heeled bullet, WMR does not.

Shot 22 LR in m 22 Mag. Forgot which cylinder was in there.
I thought you could shoot LR in a Mag but not the other way around??

Don't know.......just thought.

Should be fine in a revolver. Same difference with shooting 38 special in a 357 mag.

And the base diameter on the 22 mag is a lot larger, it is a tapered case.

Accidentally shot a .40 round through my 45. I knew something was wrong as soon as I heard the shot. The gun was fine. The casing was a little bloated.

A few years back my brother and I were sighting in our rifles for the upcoming deer season. I was shooting a Rem 700 in .270. He had the same gun in 7mm mag. He fired a 3 shot group, we went to inspect the target.

I said on the way back "my turn now." My brother loaded my gun and set it on the rest (I thought). I took the first shot and it felt funny. Then the bolt had trouble opening. Turns out there were .270 rounds in the 7mm mag.

Had to use a rod to push the bullet out, but no permanent damage. The gun has taken several deer since then.

.270 out of a .284 shouldnt require a rod to free a bullet. Now if it was a 7mm out of a .270 then yeah, I get it

Accidentally shot .223 out of my AK. Still fired fine. Just had to get the casing out with a rod.

Yep....dummy me was on the range shooting my Glock 19 and 22 on the same trip.  Loaded a couple of 9mm rounds in the .40.  It fired, but of course sounded very strange.  I knew immediately what I'd done.  No blood, no foul, but I am much more careful now.

I haven't done it.

I'm surprised that the mention of the guy that shot a 300 blackout round in his 223 hadn't came up (could be the other way around)
The gun went kaboom.

.380 in a 9mm works well enough that if I were in the French resistance, it wouldn't have bothered me a bit.

Might not work so well out of a Sten though.

Yep, I shot a 9mm out of an XD40 one time.  Just sounded funny and didn't cycle.  Ejected the case and saw a very deformed and fucked up 9mm case.  The gun was fine.  No matter how careful you are, it's so damned easy to mess up when you've got similar guns/ammo out on the bench at the same time.

So they really can fire our ammo but we can't fire theirs!

Shot one .380 round through a 9mm Shield rental gun. When it didn't cycle, I discovered my mistake. TheN I totally put away the .380 ammo I had been shooting through my daughter's TCP.

Not going to lie ... when I take both the G17 and the PPS .40 to the range, I make sure to keep things separated.

They are readily discernible rounds if you're paying attention. So I pay attention.

My neighbor has a Win 94 trapper in .45LC. He bought a box of 45LC and after the fourth of fifth round he happened to look at the empty brass. The whole box was 44-40

Yup...

.380 out of a glock 17...No damage to the chamber or bore.

Stupid...
