Slightly shook the house, but no bright flashes etc. Should I construct the ammo fort?

Seriously though, this was heard over a large area, about 20 miles, and not source has been found. Any ideas on the cause?

TULSA, Oklahoma - Residents of several Rogers County towns report hearing a loud "boom" Saturday night, but there are no reports of any explosion or public safety issue, according to authorities.
People in Claremore, Catoosa, Inola Verdigris and Pryor have called in or written to report hearing and feeling the noise. Some say it took place at about 8:30 p.m., others report 9 p.m.

News On 6 contacted Rogers County Sheriff's Office, Mayes County Sheriff's Office and Claremore Police who say no explosions have been reported or found. They have received calls reporting the loud booming noise, however.

That was actually my first thought, but then I read this morning about how large of an area it was heard and felt at. My next thought was super sonic aircraft, we do have f16s located nearby.

This is weird. The other night around 1:30 am I heard a very loud boom. The loud boom threads are getting kinda freaky. On the other hand maybe a transformer blew out. IDK.

Back in the olden days when Richards-Gebaur AFB south of KC had F-106's on hot alert and flew a lot of training missions you never knew when you would hear a BABOOMMM.

When I was a kid sonic booms were almost a daily occurrance. It was almost magical. These days folks would be crapping themselves and calling 911 in a panic. Ah, the good old days.

Jan 23'd Tinfoil hat thread?

I did see an AT-6 two days ago dog fighting with an invisible opponent (probably a secret NSA weapon/drone) above my AO.

All the moonshiners in that area have re-tooled and are making meth now.

We had an earth quack up here about 12 years ago.
All we heard was a very loud boom and the house shook at the same time.

I thought it was an explosion nearby.

Turned out to be an earth quack centered about 3/4 of a mile from my house

It's cryoseisms, otherwise known as "frost quakes".

Happens with ground water in cold weather.

We get them in WI every year.

Man, I hate earth quacks. They are way worse than regular old moon quacks and planet quacks, but nowhere near as bad as sun quacks.

We got freaked out by an explosion that literally rattled the house. Looked out to see a mushroom cloud going up. Turns out some idiot blew himself and his backyard up setting up some kind of "display" up in his backyard. Even though it was about 3 miles away...it was a big explosion. Some friends of ours lived about 2 streets over from the guy, I'm surprised their windows didn't get blown out.

Pending earthquake.

Probably not a huge one, though.

Nope he's right it started.

The black helicopters flew in. Tomorrow night they will take Arkansas away from us. Taking us one bite at a time starting in the fly-over states soe even the conservative media won't notice it until too late.

Used to hear those all the time growing up, but they pretty much stopped in the mid 80's. We were only about 200 miles from Ellsworth at the time, unsure what was stationed there in the 70's to early 80s.

No amount of tannerite makes a boom for 20 miles.

This exact thing happened just across the river from me in Illinois a couple weeks ago. They never found out what it was.. personally I blame Aliens.
