I love the Horus Heresy, Ciaphas Cain, and Iquistor Eisenhorn/Ravenor/Bequin series. Some of the other stuff is kinda bad, but some of it is really good too. Mitchel, Abnett, and Grant are great- and on the other hand anything written by Scanlon would be better used as toilet tissue. View Quote Find some of Aaron Demboski-Bowden's work. Dude is incredible. |

Gaunts Ghosts is the shit I was really big into Warhammer for many years and actually passed on a web job offer from Games Workshop. I love the game and the lore but the thought of living in baltimore plus it didnt pay very well at all. I am more into Warmachine and Hordes these days. It is much more affordable. |

Concur on Gaunts Ghosts. That series is what brought me to W40K. "The Warmaster" is supposed to be out later this year, and I can't wait. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

IMHO it's the best 40K fluff. |

I am thinking about spending $200 or so to start up a set with paint, putty and all that. I've never played the table top game myself but want a set for show on the shelf. Maybe play a game against myself.
