If 20,000 lumens describes the illumination, the question then becomes, how many decibels in the tonk?

i imagine light fights would start and would closely related to something resembling this http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9R2i9siZP_s/TuwTsk7-GmI/AAAAAAAACo8/AzEZ_JPUmoM/s1600/1.gif View Quote I'm reminded of that WW II Video, where they hold a newspaper up in front of a nighttime recon strobe for the camera, where the newspaper bursts into flames when the strobe goes off. I'm just not sure 20,000 is enough. Real world output is probably 50-60% of that, but would still be a fun toy |

I don't really know that much about flashlights. So help me out: Exactly how bright is 20,000 lumen? Give me some perspective. View Quote Enough that you'll most likely start to see the beam in the form of a white haze due to diffusion. There's so many photons that as they bump into each other on the way out of the point source that some of them end up bouncing backward toward the source. It's a whole lot of bright. |

Tag for when one of you inevitably buys one of these and gets arrested for bringing down an airplane.

That thing has to get hot as fuck with that many lumens. It better have thermal pullback also so it doesn't cook the LED's.

without looking at it closely i would suspect that there would be a significant explosion risk with that much draw. probably best used with protected cells. I may be wrong but that much juice flowing through multiple 18650s makes me nervous.
20,000 lumins...dude that is not a light, it is a weapon. Think Death Star.
Damn. A 50" rigid light bar puts out that much and it draws 20 amps.
Wow. the 32650 cell x5. 30 amp / hours of power.
I have one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FLASHLIGHT-LED-SKYRAY-8000Lm-5xCREE-XM-L-XML-T6-Camping-Torch-Light-18650-GRAY-/121237325651?pt=US_Flashlights&hash=item1c3a4ec753 Have considered mounting it on my HD weapon, but there are too many mirrors in this house. A great flashlight however. The 4, 18650 cells will run it for almost an hour on high. It does get warm. |
I have a Nitecore P16, 960 lumens,350 + yards of throw. Not bad for a sixty-five dollar light.

Okay, so those batteries are like $13 a piece or $150 a 10 pack.
That thing takes 5 and lasts how many hours minutes seconds? |
