what is the difference between ar10 floorplates and M14's? could i use a pre ban AR 10 floor plate in the new body that comes in the convversion kit?

I'm not sure there is a difference. Maybe someone else knows.
I would probably guess they want you to use the M-14 mag floorplate with the kit so you are technically replacing the other parts not building an entirely new magazine.

If the kit comes with a new mag body, spring and follower then you provide the floorplate of a pre ban magazine to complete the kit.

I'm guessing here though.
