30-year veteran of the Osage Beach Police Department is suspended after being charged with sexual abuse and sodomy. Court documents say a woman says she had sexual relations with Lt. Richard Calvino several times more than two decades ago. It happened when the woman was between the ages of 11 and 17. |

I'm pissed at the guy. The fact that he is a cop is irrelevant to me |

Isolated incident? Are you saying that this is NOT an isolated incident? Are you actually claiming that Police officers film child pornography on a regular basis and this is a common problem with law enforcement?

Sometimes I think half of GD is made up of high school kids mad at the cops because they gave them a ticket for doing a burn out in their high school parking lot, or because they broke up their house party when their parents were out of town. But claiming that this is a common problem with law enforcement in general, and that a large number of Police Officers have a child pornography problem makes the OP look like a fucking idiot. |

Hang him from the town square.
According to charging documents, Washington allegedly took photos of a 15-year-old girl while conducting an investigation into a missing persons report. He allegedly went over to the girl's house in Southeast Washington on Sunday night. Authorities say the girl had previously been reported missing and Washington claimed he needed pictures of her injuries despite the fact the girl said she had not been injured. Washington allegedly coerced her into stripping down naked, claiming he needed photos for identification purposes and that it was procedure. View Quote |

Why would you think that the police are any better or any worse than the average? This ^ Correct. Humans are equal when it comes to evil deeds. We have bad apples just like every profession. Anyone who tarnishes the badge should be dealt with as any other person. Same goes for politicians, I.e. Trey Radel. |

View Quote View Quote So, he was arrested for pretty much the same thing anyone else would have been, right? I don't see the "isolated incident" you are trying to highlight. Are you just jumping on the cop-bashing bandwagon out of a knee jerk need for Arf's acceptance and approval? You are aware that police are staffed by human beings and that the general population contains a certain percentage of people that are prone to this regrettable failing, right? If a private citizen did this, would their arrest also be an isolated incident? Frankly, I'm confused by your post and its title. |

When a job involves using force, and is heavily politicized, you end up with stupid ass numbers like that. Sexual assault is one of the MOST COMMON claims against LEOs because it's a hot button and gets women out of punishment for crimes. Cato classifies a sexy wink as sexual assault, and an arrests as assaults... Ironically, even with all of these skewed numbers, LEOs still commit less violent crimes than the public, according to your own numbers. I love how "Fatal Excessive Force" is all LEO... Because only LEOs are authorized under law to apply force. |
