I wasn't looking for another 1911. But for that price I put a tactical on layaway anyway.

I had no idea you could score a 1911 of any flavor for anywhere near this amount of $$$.
I've always been under the impression that they were ~$800 and up. I'm usually completely pragmatic with my guns (Glock, AR, 10/22, etc.), but I've always wanted a 1911 despite that. Might be time... |
|
Damn, I had wanted one of those. Got one in the cart now, just gotta run by my FFL to make sure they're good with it (They're not on Buds preferred list )
Buds is G2G, right? never ordered from them before.

I have ordered guns from them in the past with no problems, back when they actually had good prices. Not recently. But this price was good enough for me to pull the trigger. |

I've never owned an RIA, but from internet research they seem to be an excellent basic 1911, often outperforming more expensive ones.. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Can you really get a 1911 that runs for $ 300 and change? View Quote If it is made to 1911A1 specifications and you use it with magazines which DO NOT DEFEAT the controlled feed design, it will run no matter how much you pay for it. Buy one from someone who thinks they know the design better than JMB or use the wrong magazine and you'll have trouble. |

FUCK, I hate black fridays... This is a pretty sweet deal... But Im waiting on their hi-cap tactical model to come out... Thats the only reason Im not buying this damn thing.. Well that and PSA's deals are breaking me.
ETA- Slowkota ... Thats the one Im wanting... Production is supposed to start after the 1st of the year... |

A couple years ago I bought a Filipino made Firestorm 1911 for $299 for shits and grins. I have put 1000's of rounds through it with out a single malfunction. In fact the trigger is better than my Colt. Go figure. |

Well, with one keystroke, I have spent all of my Black Friday money . Bought the tactical one

How are they so cheap? Lots of MIM parts and cast slide/frame?

Can you really get a 1911 that runs for $ 300 and change? View Quote Yes. These are great prices on a decent gun. I bought a GI model a few years ago for $450 at my lgs and it's run flawlessly. I shoot mainly Win white box fmj or reloads with cast truncated cone bullets but it's eats Speer Gold Dots just as reliably. If they had the tactical in 10mm I'd be ordering one. As it is I've got a Ruger so I don't need a tactical and am saving my pennies for a Ruger Commander. |

View Quote i have a freind who is a 1911 guy. mostly paras and one colt. he bought a RIA gi model. the slide stop was out of spec and he swapped in a colt part and called RIA they sent him an inspec part. we loaded it up with decent mags and ran a bunch of ball through it and it ran great. I think he paid $400 for it. lets put it this way if the gun fight fairy stopped time on me and said you are un armed and are about to be attacked you can have any one of the following: K- frame 38 RIA GI model Hi Point I'd totally take the RIA. I'd rather it be a glock but I wouldn't feel un armed with a RIA GI model. |
