Well I came across this fun little stereo amp. I needed an amp for better/louder sound in my bathroom for talk radio/podcast. Here's that thread. Thread I've only had the amp for a day, but the sound is great. It pushes a decent amount of power for it's small size. I'm running a Definitive Technologies ProCenter MKII center channel speaker, but I might get a pair of bookshelf speakers in the future. This would be a great item if you have a couple bookshelf speakers laying around and need a small stereo for your kitchen, bathroom, garage, game room, etc. The amp has RCA and 1/8" inputs so you can hook it up to a smartphone, ipod, bluetooth receiver, etc. Really can't beat it for $20 bucks and based on the reviews on amazon, it's a pretty popular little unit. Amplifier http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/71YRsyzuMlL._SL1500_.jpg http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/71rwO-U%2BsGL._SL1500_.jpg Plenty actually. These three are in my wishlist. Will be getting one of them next week and adding to my system. Here And here And here Any of these connect via USB? My Sony receiver somehow doesn't have a 3.5mm aux connection. |

Found this little gem. For anybody who has a car stereo that has an aux input and a usb input, here's a bluetooth receiver that will let you have bluetooth in your vehicle. This is music streaming only, not for calls.
This is particularly nice for me since my headunit has usb and 3.5mm aux in right next to each other. USB Bluetooth |

Now if you want something really slick - albeit a little pricey - check out the Klein 32534 "10 Fold HVAC". It still has 1/4" and 5/16" nutdrivers, all the screwdriver bits, plus the schrader valve bits. And it folds up like a small pocket knife. I showed up at a buddy's house seemingly empty handed and as his wife screeched at him like a fucking crow, I whipped this little puppy out, took apart the condenser, replaced the bulging capacitor, and had him back up and running before she was done bitching about it. As I put the panel back on I said to her "It's all fixed so you can shut the fuck up now. Where's that beer you promised me?" I left without the beer. But it was worth it. View Quote |

They make a 1/8th inch bit for those Klein multi bit screwdrivers so you can rewire thermostats.

Speaking of thermostats, I'm going to order some of those bit sets for my Klein 11-in-1 and my 10-Fold. In the meantime, right now I use a Klein Terminal Block screwdriver. Yes, we all have those tiny, free-give-away screwdrivers handed out by Johnstone Supply and others. But they cheap junky toys. The Klein is well worth the $6.64 if you spend any time dealing with thermostat wiring.
Another gem for dealing with thermostats is the MagJumper. This thing is amazing!!! Basically a wire jumper, but instead of clumsy alligator clips, the tips are tiny round magnets that fit right down into the screw hole in the terminal block and stick to the screw head. You know, like when you need to jump the red and white wires together to see if the furnace lights. So you yank the thermostat off the wall and try to get your clip leads down into the holes. Or you unscrew the wires and pull them loose. No more! Just stick the ends in the little holes and you're GTG!! |

Something awesome and inexpensive. (mind you to click prime shipping) We have 3 of these for the office/house/etc. It is a 2ish inch cube that has a digital radio, fairly high quality speaker, audio in, usb and micro sd ports. Plus the battery lasts a pretty long time. If only it had weather stations and it would be perfect. Btw, there are LEDs in the clear housing.
The display shows track or station info, etc. Damn good deal for $14 http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Portable-Music-Player-Speaker/dp/B00CBP89QE/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1413072711&sr=1-7&keywords=tomtop |

I've had this thing in my wish list for probably 1 year. Is it any good? I have one. It depends what you are after. Do you want a very small/portable speaker that will be a little louder than your cell phone? Personally, I'd spend an extra 10-15 bucks and buy one of the slightly bigger ones for better battery life and more volume. The one above is cool for stocking stuffers and neat gifts for kids, but only at a cheaper price. IMHO of course... The Amazon Basic bluetooth speakers seem to have good feedback. There are others as well that are in the 25-35 dollar price range. Just search amazon for "portable bluetooth speaker" and select "4 stars and above" to filter results and you'll get lots of hits. |

I don't have any significant way to measure volume. My description of "a little louder" probably wasn't fair. My only point was that this is a single speaker unit. There are a TON of options now on Amazon. So if space is a concern or you want something pocketable, yes this is a great unit. But the sound quality isn't going to be sufficient for outdoor gatherings of any large space (my personal experience only). I wasn't knocking it, simply giving my feedback based on owning one that if I were in the market again and didn't mind a bigger unit, I might go in that direction instead. But for what it is, I do like it. But I only use it in a pinch in certain scenarios. I would actually prefer something that was battery powered rather than changed via USB but that's just IMHO. |

Here's a weird one - refrigerator parts:
I busted one of the door trays on my 25 cu.ft. side-by-side Kenmore, so I looked up the part on SearsPartsDirect and they wanted $30 + tax and shipping. Almost $50 for a plastic door tray. So I cut&paste the Frigidaire part number - 240323001 - into the Amazon search box and there it is for $12, no tax and free shipping. It showed up in a few days and is an exact replacement. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DM8K72S/ So if you have a broken milk jug bin or butter door or pull out shelf, just find the manufacturer p/n and search for it. You'll save some money. |

Princeton Tec REMIX PRO Headlamp in Black with White LED's $13.99 shipped prime This is a product code mistake on amazon's website. The photo is of a REMIX PRO but the price and listing is for an AMP 3.0 handheld flashlight. The light you receive will be the REMIX PRO in the photo and it normally retails at $45!! If you look at all the other price listings for the same item you will see they are all $40+ on the same product page from others vendors, and the 'green' color version is also $40+. If you order the 13.99 prime item it will be a REMIX PRO http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G96X1DC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I've placed four orders so far. Each one has been a headlamp. Either way you have nothing to lose since it's sold by Amazon. |

Here's a weird one - refrigerator parts: I busted one of the door trays on my 25 cu.ft. side-by-side Kenmore, so I looked up the part on SearsPartsDirect and they wanted $30 + tax and shipping. View Quote Amazon also sells auto parts. The above method of C&P the part number works well. Their prices can be very reasonable, and this is a case where the $3.99 1-day shipping can be very useful. |

The mfg prices are full list, amazon prices are much better. |

Found a the exact replacement for about $3 bucks. |
