Granted its super low miles and literally looks like new ,but damn....
See looking at ebay trucks with 2-3x the miles bring still $15K + Used Toyota pricing is insane , this coming form a Toyota owner |

I'm sure 90+% of Arfcom can say they did the same thing on their rifles.
It's his money. Let him spend it how he likes. |

I have an 02 tacoma that I paid 10,400 with 59k and has 222,000k now. I was offered 6,500 for it two weeks ago. THAT is crazy talk.

Theres a cream puff type of place down the road from me trying to get $30k for a 4 y/o 4 door Tacoma. It's been sitting there a while.......

If I knew the previous owner and knew it was well taken care of, that doesn't seem that out of line.
Have you priced a new one lately? |

I paid 7300 for a 2000 4runner limited with 129k back in early 2012.
Money well spent. Blue booked for 8-9k if I remember correctly. |
That's why I got a 4x4 tacoma. I can use it until I want something else and get a good amount back when I sell it.

That was much smarter than buying a new one for ~$40,000. I'm a tightwad. I don't buy new vehicles. |

P.T. Barnum is alive and well....and selling high mileage used Toyota trucks.
Hell I wouldn't pay 20k for a new loaded Tundra. Not a real truck IMO.
I bought a very low mile 04 crew cab 4x4 limited Tundra a few years ago for about $19.5k. I drove it for a couple years and traded it in last year. The dealer had it sold to another dealer for $18.5k before we finished the deal.

It isn't just Toyotas. Used car prices are nuts right now.
I refuse to pay 15K for something with 100K+ miles on it, but I guess plenty of people do. |
what a dumbass, ate up with the Toyota resale bullshit factor. Get caught in the hype of crap, go down in flames.
Sold my 01 4runner with $145k on it for $8500 last year. New owner is very happy with it.
Toyotas and Hondas last, so used, but well maintained examples retain value |
I paid a lot for an 04 Tacoma 4x4 with 113k miles on it. This thing will last me several years to come; not sure if the same can be said for those of you with UAW or Mexican made vehicles.

Im thinking about selling my 94 ext cab pickup with 137k on it. Ill probably ask 5500. They are crazy, but i want a fj62 and they are equally bad.

is it a technical with a transferable MG mounted in the back?

Where you live affects it also. |

I have no interest in getting rid of my 2000 Taco, even though i've been offered almost 10K
IIRC, I paid about 10 for my 02 Runner back in 2009 with 86k on it. I loved that thing, but it ended up being a big piece of shit with multiple 4wd failures. Wish I had one that was nice and wasn't forced to sell it

My dad bought an aging on the lot 09 Tacoma Prerunner with manual trans and 4.0 for 22k-23k in jan2010.
He just sold it with 66k+ miles, on trade in to the dealership, for 19k. Yeah... that shocked the shit out of me. He basically paid 3k-4k dollars to use the truck for 3 years. Makes me wonder what my 07 Tacoma Prerunner with same base options would bring. It is at 65-67k miles as well. |
Just sold my personal Tacoma for 8,600 bucks. It was a 2000 model ext cab 4wd. It was a 4cl. 5 spd. and had 199k miles on it. I told the guy I didn't want to sell it but he just kept on pushing so I priced it and he took me up. I would like to have saw my face when he said will cash be O.K.

I thought it said (or assumed) Tacoma. When I reread that you said Tundra, i'm now shocked.

I bought a used car in 2009 and sold it for only a couple of grand less than I paid for it in March of this year...which went most of the way to paying off a brand new car that will be fully paid off shortly. With the insanely low finance rates right now you can work a pretty great deal on a new vehicle if you outright own a vehicle already that's in good shape. |

It jut amazes me looking on ebay and other places people are asking and getting 15-20K for 7-10 year old Toyota trucks View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Sweet, maybe some idiot will pay 10k for my 2000 4runner! Clean, low mile examples of the older trucks (79-89) are appreciating. Average price for my 87 has gone up a couple of thousand (in similar shape) in the 7 years I have owned it. |
Resale on Toyotas is pretty insane, it's so good it actually makes sense to buy new.
I do not buy used vehicles...unless it a classic I want for my collection.
The way Toyota bloats up their trucks with every new generation, there's a built in appeal for the older ones.
Look at the prices for a clean pre-2003 Tacoma. |
