A metal ladle or cup is exactly how I plan to consume from the indoor Whiskey Waterfall.

I was going to go last year, had a few days at work I had to burn...I should have went. Maybe in 2014.

I like Jack Daniels. I enjoy it. Would be an interesting tour for me, I think.

Bonus: You can easily stop off at Beam on the way home, too. Beam's got better steak sa ce and mustard.

We skipped that- we were on an early tour and I'm a cheap date on an empty stomach.

Drop by the Barrelhouse BBQ in Lynchburg. Great pulled pork.

Ok here goes, not once did I see mentioned what I drink Jack Green Label, I love the stuff, you can only buy it in a states next to Tenn. I don't care for the Black label but the Green is good stuff. I keep mine in the freezer, still have about 6 bottles left, guess I'll be taking a road trip next spring.

Its technically not even bourbon is it?  And I agree, jack is over rated as hell.  The only thing more over rated in my opinion is crown royal. It cracks me up when I see some white trash fuck swilling crown royal and thinking that they're drinking the good stuff. Especially when there are so many damn good bourbons out there for less than $30 a fifth.

Miss Mary Bobo's is always packed. Meh. We walked right in to the Barrelhouse and sat down. Keep an eye out for the retired a-hole SR71 pilot who will snub you when you express interest in his story and thank him for his service . The food was excellent though.

The casinos probably have some kind of a deal going, the Green is 5yr the Blk is 7yr

edit: for the availability not the price, green has always been cheaper.

Technically true IF the Tennessee whiskey adheres to the legal requirements of what is a Bourbon.

But Jack Daniels doesn't call it's Tennessee whiskey 'bourbon' and Tennessee distillers that label their Tennessee whiskey as "Tennessee Whiskey" are often quick to claim it's a seperate style of American whiskey based on the use of the "Lincoln County process" even though some Kentucky bourbon is charcoal filtered (Erza Brroks and Old Heaven Hill) and some Tennessee whiskey (Pritchard's) isn't.

To make it more confusing, NAFTA trade regulations recognize 'Tennessee whiskey' and define it but declare it a subset of bourbon.

Regardless, Jack Daniels is swill.

Why the blue fuck would you treat any whiskey like that? It's not swill vodka or Budweiser / Coors.

Cold kills taste. Good whiskey has complex taste. Cold makes it taste like cold.

ETA: And if it's not good whiskey and you have to have at >32° to stand the taste, you might as well just drink Everclear.

Oh thats an easy answer Cuz, because out of the freezer I can chug it straight up, screw the lid back on, & wait until I pass the fridge again. The Crown I keep at room temp, for sipping purposes. (the diff is Chuggin vs Sippin)

The price probably includes bottling with a personalized label.  My bet is that particular keg is either empty or full of water.

In advance of  Millenium celebrations, lots of folks bought entire barrels to have bottled and shipped for their Millenium parties.

I've tried all of the Bourbons listed above and in a direct comparison (only) they are all inferior to Wild Turkey 101, Weller 107 and Elijah Craig 12 year old.  I'd like to see 10 glasses of Bourbons lined up and have Bourbon snobs identify the brands.

You're both wrong.  Legally, bourbon can be made anywhere in the United States.

The Lincoln County process actually might change the classification, if it mattered.  (Since Jack Daniels doesn't market itself as a bourbon, it doesn't matter, so it doesn't come up.)

Per 27 CFR 5.23

§ 5.23
Alteration of class and type.
(a) Additions. (1) The addition of any coloring, flavoring, or blending materials to any class and type of distilled spirits, except as otherwise provided in this section, alters the class and type thereof and the product shall be appropriately redesignated.
(2) There may be added to any class or type of distilled spirits, without changing the class or type thereof, (i) such harmless coloring, flavoring, or blending materials as are an essential component part of the particular class or type of distilled spirits to which added, and (ii) harmless coloring, flavoring, or blending materials such as caramel, straight malt or straight rye malt whiskies, fruit juices, sugar, infusion of oak chips when approved by the Administrator, or wine, which are not an essential component part of the particular distilled spirits to which added, but which are customarily employed therein in accordance with established trade usage, if such coloring, flavoring, or blending materials do not total more than 2 1/2 percent by volume of the finished product.
(3) “Harmless coloring, flavoring, and blending materials” shall not include (i) any material which would render the product to which it is added an imitation, or (ii) any material, other than caramel, infusion of oak chips, and sugar, in the case of Cognac brandy; or (iii) any material whatsoever in the case of neutral spirits or straight whiskey, except that vodka may be treated with sugar in an amount not to exceed 2 grams per liter and a trace amount of citric acid.
(b) Extractions. The removal from any distilled spirits of any constituents to such an extent that the product does not possess the taste, aroma, and characteristics generally attributed to that class or type of distilled spirits alters the class and type thereof, and the product shall be appropriately redesignated. In addition, in the case of straight whisky the removal of more than 15 percent of the fixed acids, or volatile acids, or esters, or soluble solids, or higher alcohols, or more than 25 percent of the soluble color, shall be deemed to alter the class or type thereof.

It could probably be argued that the sugar maple charcoal imparts a flavor and is therefore a flavoring material.  Alternatively, it could be argued that the Lincoln County process removes constituents to a degree that it differentiates Tennessee whiskey from bourbon, and is therefore an extraction that requires redesignation.  It doesn't matter, though, since JD doesn't bill itself as a bourbon.
