Don't forget the morons who use commas in place of apostrophes!

Stop putting apostrophe's where they don't belon'g. Stop putting, commas where there's no reason to have, a comma. Stop it, or I will find out where you live, and I will shit on your porch. I know you don't believe me, but I'll do it. And until then, I'll sleep better knowing you can't enter your front door without giving the welcome mat a little extra scrutiny while wondering if those English classes at the local community college aren't a pretty reasonable deal after all. Many would say it's a natural evolution of the language. Only purists side with your logic. Shakespeare would bite his thumb at you. Yes, because all the people doing these things are expressing genius which refuses to be bound by convention. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

No one is perfect, and I can forgive a few minor errors. Common misspellings, misapplying "there," "their," and "they're," and using apostrophes as a warning that an "s" is coming up are only minor distractions. Capitalizing every word, a complete failure to paragraph, and poor comma usage are more aggravating. But the posts that I most often find to be not worth deciphering are those in which the writer simply cannot clearly communicate his thoughts; he meanders aimlessly from one poorly expressed idea to another, and after reading the post I have absolutely no idea what he's trying to say. I usually don't attempt a second reading, though I often wonder what it must be like to live with this person's thoughts. |

Grammatical errors are funny. In addition to undermining an individual's intellectual credibility, they imbue a sort of absurdity into the didactic exchange that must be experienced to be appreciated.

Founding fathers made up there own rules on the fly about what syntax was right. The average sentence in the consitution is 100 words and all that. Ben Franklin would capitalize everything randomly. Theodore Roosevelt Decided that everyone should stop English for a second and switch to phonically correct wordage like
"Thru= through" and "Tho=though". Not kidding and he wrote about 40 books during his life. To ever split an Infinitive is incorrect. Don't use contractions. These things are also on their way out and we are all guilty of them. ETA: I know there are my mistakes in my above post. But this isn't my capstone paper and fuck you you are not my professor. |
