A group calling themselves the National Constitution Center would like to amend the 2nd Amendment.
This is how they want it to read: “Because a well-regulated National Guard and Reserve, and well-regulated Federal, state, and local public safety departments, are necessary to the security of our free states and our free nation, the rights of citizens, while serving in their capacity in the aforesaid organizations, to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” The Philadephia Inquirer is running a poll asking whether you approve or reject this rewriting of the 2nd Amendment. I think everyone here would reject this. The 2nd Amendment is about individual rights and not the rights of the cops and National Guard to have firearms. That is what the Founders said and that is what the Supreme Court said in the Heller Case. You can vote on the poll here |

The fact that they even think that's an option is why gun owners will never lose the "they are coming for our guns" mentality.

LOL allowing only the government to keep and bear arms protects our freedom? Sounds about right according to history...
|
|
Why would the government need to protect its ability to have firearms when it makes the laws?
