OP how did you adjust your irons for elevation- do you pull the front sight off and file it till you get a hit? That's my only gripe about the Nagant, is the front sight not being elevation adjustable easily. |

Good shooting. You are making me jealous for having such a great place to shoot.

nice video and good shooting
edit. 22 cal mini cannon mayham lol

I put 4 of 10 on a 12"x15" target at 500 yards in a 30 mph wind with my 91/30. I had to line up the right edge of the front sight on the left side of the target to get on it. I haven't been back to try again since. These rifles can be very capable.

I dig the 70's porn music at the end. Otherwise great shootin'

That's neat. You can see the bullet in flight in that video. Cool. Good shooting too.

They are great rifles taking into consideration the design dates back to 1891.
AIM Surplus has them on sale this weekend. |

What is up with the muzzle. Did you have it re-crowned?
Any work done on the rifle (corking?) |

Nice shooting. Year and arsenal? I have a Izhevks 1930r Hex I may try to duplicate your shot with.

I've done some trigger work to make it break clean at 2lbs and also made a slack spring for the trigger. I bedded the rifle receiver and the end of the barrel where the front barrel band is. Before this I just used electrical tape to bed the barrel. Also what helps out a lot is the front tapered sight post, covers about 1-2" at 100 yards as opposed to the stock 12" at 100 yards. |

Thanks, this is just a regular old 1943 Izhevks 91/30. Those hex receivers look pretty nice! View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I'll have to see if my 1943 Izhevks 91/30 compares. Also like the hexes so picked up a 1927 Tula ex-dragoon. |

I shot 20 rounds, and dinged the lower left corner on shot #19. The others were all around it within 2 to 3 feet. I averaged 5 MOA with crappy ammo, and 12 mph winds. Was a lucky shot, I'll admit. Now that I have a 18"x18" plate I'm eager to try again this fall after harvest when I can put it out quite a ways. |
