First off, the reason Troy is (will be) losing sales...in case you didn't already know.

In this thread, I'd like to calculate how much money Troy is going to lose in prospective sales to customers here.

Just list the items you were going to buy (when you had actually planned to buy them doesn't matter), and make a total dollar figure in your post.

If this thread goes several pages, I'll total each page on this post.

I'll start:

$260 - rear sight tritium upgrade for 4 ARs @ $65 apiece

$220 - front sight tritium upgrade for 4 ARs @ $55 apiece

$144 - folding M4 front sight for AR pistol @ $144 apiece

$119 - folding rear sight, standard for AR pistol @ $119 apiece

$45 - "medieval" flash suppressor for AR pistol @ $45 apiece

TOTAL:  $788 that Troy will never get from me.

Update:  GRAND TOTAL ON PAGE ONE IS (AT LEAST*) $5,496

GRAND TOTAL ON PAGE TWO IS* $1,555

GRAND TOTAL ON PAGE THREE  IS* $2,444

GRAND TOTAL ON PAGE FOUR  IS* $3,378

GRAND TOTAL ON PAGE FIVE IS TBD

*If you listed an item but included no dollar value, I did not add it to the total.  I am not going to go looking up every single price myself.

Had already decided on a TRX-308 rail for my M&P10.  Not any more  ETA - $235
The BUIS for my M&P10 were going to be Troy, GG&G, or YHM.  Obviously that's down to two choices now.  ETA - $99 Front sight, $119 Rear sight
ETA- Post from my blog 31 JAN saying where I was going to upgrade to a free float rail.  At that point I had not decided on the TRX.  Obviously with the OR version of the M&P10, I need BUIS for that rifle.

Was considering a Alpha rail for my M&P15.  I hadn't decided to go with it, but it was a finalist before the recent events.  ETA - $199
ETA-  My post @ S&W Forum from 01 AUG saying where a Troy Alpha, Noveske NSR, or DD Modular Float Rail were the three options I was considering.

And I won't buy Noveske, BCM, or any other company marked Troy BUIS for my current build. ETA - $99 and $119 on Bravo Company USA
ETA- Pic of my current build that obviously lacks BUIS.

Not a whole lot money wise (ETA- $870 retail) , but it is what it is.

ETA2- If anyone from Troy is reading this and thinks the above is bullshit, here is where I cancelled an order for 3 AR lowers after Code Red's owner showed his true colors. .  I placed this order during the panic and did not regret cancelling it, even considering how scarce lowers were at that time.

Pavlov had the right idea in another thread:

Quoted:

Guys, I'm going to be honest here, and make a suggestion.

In light of the BS that Troy stands for now, there is something that can be done where the effects will be felt at Troy financially, even more than simply so many of us not buying new products, and that is, to flood the market with all of our used Troy products.

If the market is flooded with Troy products, then the market for new stuff will be be greatly diminished. Each used sale creates a loss of new sale. Troy doesn't make a dime on the product since it's used, but, they will be liable for warranty repairs in many cases.

If you have friends that are building something new, and want good quality but can't spend the cash, sell them your used Troy goods at a discount.

Get a hand written receipt from your buddy that just shows you sold one of their products, with your name, and the reason you sold it, and put it in an envelope and mail it in to Troy.

Then, whatever you were going to buy new that Troy would have been an option for, buy something from a competitor, and send a copy of the receipt , with you name, and why you didn't buy Troy.

(ETA - Cinci, your new shades are a little overbearing. )

Any future purchases though will not include Troy so I'm not how you'd quantify that for the purposes of this thread.

I disagree with your first line, but not the second.
Sending receipts is a great idea; I hope that is done in addition to the symbolic boycott here.

Since I can't collect everyone's receipts I figured this was one of the more readily-available means at our disposal.

ETA:  If nothing else, I'm hoping more people see what has happened with Troy.

For what it's worth I've been considering another of their rear sights. No more.

It's only $120ish but enough of them will add up.

Have 3 builds that were going to be wearing sets of Troy flip ups. $600
One build that was going to get an 11' alpha rail $260

Going with either Knights, Geissele, or JP on the rail now, and likely midwest for my sights.

So $860 out of their pocket.

Well I was going to get the drop-in CAR/M4 Battle Rail, instead I just ordered a Knights Armament m4 RAS. Paid Up a bit more but its what I really wanted and Troy helped me see that.

Same order was going to have the Rear Folding BattleSight. Now trying to figure out what to get instead...

$140 BattleRail Drop-In CAR/M4  ->  KAC M4 RAS
$110 BattleSight Rear Folding ->   ?

Sell them cheap online.  If enough people dilute the supply, the price for new items will come down which will affect profit margin.
