I'm off because the railroad considers good friday a holiday, and I'm trying to get senior status.

I usually work the evening shift -- correction: am the evening shift -- at the machine shop where I'm employed.

With the post-Clinton economic hangover, I had to go back on days and it's killing me. It's all I can do to keep from falling into my machine from 10 AM until noon. But I still can't get to sleep before 2 AM.

I'm a Narcoleptic Insomniac.
Sometimes I just fall asleep for no reason when I can't sleep.

Yeah, Good Friday is a holiday on the railroad I work for, too. Just like Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. The only time I get any of them off is if they happen to fall on my assigned rest days or I lay off and forfeit the holiday pay. I'm just coming off my rest days. I'll be back on the switching lead again at 23:59 tonight. I'm up because my system is accustomed to being up at this time of night.

I'm an everloving god awful night owl.

If there is something to be done I much prefer to do it at night rather then during the day, with an exception for shooting squirrels that is because the little buggers don't want to play by my rules and they only come out during the daytime.

I'm in the Mechanical Dept. and all the yard crews are laid in, so there is nothing for us to do.
We've got airmen working to protect the mainline, but everyone else in Mech. gets a three day weekend.
I work the road truck, so as long as a road freight dosen't derail, I no workee workee.[:)]

Well I'm in TEY, which can give new meaning to the phrase "No rest for the weary"... I'm just glad to be on a switch job with assigned rest days so I can plan some activities.

I hear ya Boomer. I'm a prior Conrail guy, and when the NS took us over they were workin crews like rented mules.
I guess they thought that they were gonna pay off that 10 billion all in one year or something!
I got a sweet gig on the road truck dude, the only down side is getting called out on derailments. Why can't you guys derail between the hours of 9:00AM and 4:00PM during the summer months only?
We put alot of em on the ground sadly enough.
The NS is not big on equipment maintenance, and square wheels and steel rail do not mix.

You must have a real good internet connection to be able to play Rogue Spear. My buddy has Cable and played another guy with cable and it still lagged. The game has a huge bandwith and really sucks for network play. But on the other hand the game is cool so even if it lags a bit it's fun!
I'm an old school RainbowSix player!

As far as sleep goes....I usually am up till 2am or sometimes 3am every night. I don't have to get up for work until 8am so between 5 and 6 hours of sleep I get on average is all I usually need.

I broke away from this thing long enough to cut a trail through my room to the loading/cleaning bench.
Not a bad nights work. Almost there.
Have a good days guys.

Most of the stuff I got out of my room is in the front room now. Getting closer to the door all of the time.
