I got a friend of mine from Afghanistan a job here. He is now training under me. I have taken to referring to him as "Minion."
He didn't know what the word "minion" meant, let alone the Despicable Me guys. I showed him the Banana film. Him: 
Win.

I mentor a Robotics team.
The freshmen are Minions. You frequently hear "I need a couple minions over here" while we're working in the shop. I'll take a good Minion over a lazy senior any day! I'd been working with Minions for at least a year before my daughter introduced me to "Despicable Me". |

My birthday is coming up soon, and my wife is an awesome cake baker/decorator. I'd told her the flavor I wanted weeks ago. Last night, we were discussing these movies and how much we enjoyed them. She casually mentioned that she was surprised I didn't ask for a minion cake.

Loved both movies. More importantly, so do my kids so its a great way for us to laugh together
I was in San Diego area during ComiCon. There was a minion blimp flying around the latter part of the week. Hilarious! |

Thanks to that movie, particularly the second one, my 3-year old will not stop saying "bottom" in her best minion impression. Its funny, but any time I hear anyone say that word, I automatically say (to myself) "bottom" a la minion
