Needs an explosion sound at the end, or maybe a little dude in a vest that pops out like on a cuckoo clock.

My Drill Sergeants NEVER woke us up, that was the final fire guard's duty. If the DS came in the morning and we were still racked out, we would have been fucked!

The DI clock isn't very realistic.  It needs to say "Drop your cocks and grab your socks!!"

This, really - except maybe the first few mornings.  Then there's the odd and constant association with reveille and waking up.  I don't know if that's how it ever was, but not anywhere I've ever been.  You are up and out of bed long before reveille is played.

When it can grab a metal garbage can and beat on it to wake me, I will get one.

BTW, does the USMC even do Reveille?  ... or bugle calls?

/ETA, `1) I was Army.  2) Reveille was played at the same time we had to be in PT formation.  If you weren't in formation when the cannon went off, you were late.

Yes.  But if you really want to get people angry enough to wake up immediately any alarm clock playing random bho speeches would do it.

My DI used a garbage can as an alarm clock. Usually tossed it into the middle of the squad bay

When I was a kid, they had this cute little doggie alarm clock dressed up like a drill sergeant.

It'd play reveille, and then say in a thick asian accent, "Is time to get up! You get up! Don't sreep your rife away!"

Never did get one, always wish I had.

Our DI used a garbage can lid and a baton. After about day two I'd wake up as soon as he hit the light switch.
